The reception is good here. Even better as I near UCSB. T Mobile lists the area between Ellwood and Gaviota as having great reception. There is NO reception between Refugio and Gaviota State Beaches on Hwy. 101. T Mobile needs to work on this ASAP

I had Verizon but switched over to Spring because I saw that they had good reviews in this page and would save me some money. Well, all I can say is Sprint service is horrible. The data service is horrible in that it's super slow averaging about 200 kbps DL rather than the 600 kbps that they say most data users receives. I made several complaints and the latest one they said that the manager was going to call me back and it has been since 2 days and no call at all. I'm going to continue to call them until they let me off my contract or the service is up to advertised.

Also, there are many more cell sites than this page indicates for the Goleta / Santa Barbara areas, very disapointing. If you have an Android, load the free "Antennas" app from the Market place to see where they are. Also load the "Real Signals" app to see the differances between your Data and Voice signals. For Verizon that's EVDO and 1x CDMA. I returned my DroidX yesterday to stay out of contract and have restarted using my 4 year old MotoQ.

In my building I get severe reception fluctuations and often calls go straight to voice mail. Likely a rare bad handset, but I found a Boost Mobile CDMA map (Same as Verizon) showing a narrow strip of marginal coverage for our street / buildings. (ATK) Curiously, Nextel iDen seems to have good coverage there. It's old but good TDMA technology, I may have to switch to it. (My wife is disabled and must be able to contact me quickly)

Drastic reduction in quality recently. Many dropped calls and choppy reception. Service used to be great... something has happened in last month to greatly reduce the quality of service.
