Everywhere I go in Hanford, Cingular delivers, even if its expensive. Armona was another story, calls dropped left and right, I would rarely be able to talk in bed for fear of a call getting dropped. Also, at West Hills College in Lemoore, no reception / 1 bar in the classrooms, goes back up to 3 when you go back outside.

I used to be an ex-Cingular customer a few years ago, with a Siemens phone. I occasionally had dropped calls. I'm back with a Nokia flip phone, and coverage is great. It usually always has its 4 out of 4 bars of coverage, and I've never had a dropped call. I don't know if Cingular really improved their network, or if Nokia is just a better cell phone maker.

Good reception the further west you go, dead zone near rr tracks on Excelsior, barely any signal at home, most of time won't work while in house, customer service sucks

Good reception throughout the valley. Only a few dead zones on the outskirts of town do I lose a call. Target in Visalia, CA completely block my signal but seems to allow ATT Wireless / Cingular limited reception.

I am on my 4th hotspot since August 27, 2011 and the service is the worst I've ever had. I will be downloading when it drops me and I have to wait and start all over, which cost me money. Verizon charges for all the lownload info you have done whether you have finished or not. It took me 6 times to download 263 MB of info for my printer drivers. I tried to get out of the contract and Verizon said sure that will be $165.00. It does not matter that thier equipment does not work, whether it be the towers or hotspots. The tower is about 1 / 4 mile from me. You figure it out. I will go back to ATT in a heart beat and Verizon will only see my dust, but they don't care.

I've had all carriers, I've tried them all over the years. I can safely say that no carrier has a perfect network, or customer service for that matter. My experience with Sprint was horrible coverage, dropped calls anytime I strayed from a major city, I could deal with a few dropped calls, but their customer service made me cancel. With Cingular I missed calls while inside my house and received the voicemails and txt messages when I stepped out. Their customer service is ok. T-Mobile has excellent customer service but their coverage is in par with Cingular. AT&T does not matter anymore but I can say their customer service was horrible while their coverage was excellent where other carriers did not have coverage, and nothing else. I finally settled with Verizon, the company I was avoiding the whole time because of their higher priced service. Well, its been over two years and I have only dropped calls a few times throughout. Customer service is not incredible but it IS better than all of the other carriers. Go with Verizon if you don't know what its like to have reliable service and good customer support.
