When at home, my cell reception is very spotty. 90% of incoming calls go straight to voicemail.

Signal strength comes in and out. Sometime all 5 bars, then it dies for no reason. I wonder if it has to do with the high tension power line that's running on Eden Greenway.

once you enter you loose 1 bar the farther you are from the entrance door the more bars you loose as your at the back of the store you have no reception at all I have to either go towards the front or outside to get reception and make a call also its the same crap when you go into subway not as much you stay with 2 bars most of the times if you sit close to a window you get 1bar more but its always 2 bars then back to 3 then back to 2 back and fourth. Its always the sames for all the shops around alberstons sometimes I have to go on the roof since theres a parking lot there and get full bars. This is not the only place I have trouble with also my house and mostly all hayward hayward needs a new cell site to improve the reception because most of hayward has bad reception especially at cal state thats a dead spot for all carriers.

Every time I head up the hill, the signal bars die and my call is dropped just before the Cal State Hayward (East Bay) campus. All my friends know where exactly I am by virtue of when the call drops. My Nextel phone is the same. My friends with Cingular and T-Mobile experience the same as well. Can't someone place a tower in the Hayward Hills?

Before ATT merged with Cingular, I was extremely pleased with the reception in and around my home. I live in a home with aluminum siding and this was never a reception problem until the last 18 months. In fact, I had a friend staying with me using MetroPCS. He had to go outside to use his phone; while I always had 4-5 bars. Saw the earlier post about the new homes (which were built concurrent with the Cingular buyout) and am now wondering if they might be the source of my reduced service. At this time, I rarely get more than 1 bar in my home and even then 75% of calls I attempt do not go through. Really not happy, but not on contract and certainly not willing to sign a new contract for the same poor reception.

New housing development built in the area. Barely any reception in that area and on Hesperian heading south... which eventually turns into Union City Blvd. All along UC Blvd you're lucky to get a bar at all.

I have tried working with Sprint PCS for a number of years to encourage them to install a cell tower in the area. I had even located a commercial tower for the antenna location. But all to deaf ears. There are 600 more homes planned for the area with 250 in a previous near area completed. No signal until a mile down Hayward Bivd. The cellular companies are asleep. Now shopping for a new carrier.
