Verizon's service is unacceptable in the South Livermore area - there is no coverage in the Concannon / Catalina / Holmes area - Verizon refuses to do anything to help with this problem except tell us to wait until the end of 2006 for it to improve (they said it would improve at the end of 2005 last summer - still nothing)

In Southwest Livermore, Verizon coverage is bad. the bad area extends from Alden Lane north to just south of Stanley, around Murdell. We live in this area and I cannot receive a call at my home (even outside). Reliable connections can not be made while driving kids to and from school. Verizon has finally acknowledeged that we are in a "marginal reception area". Plans for a new tower in the area are planned by mid-2006. I'm not holding my breath.

As an ATT customer with analog service the reception was good. Roaming and long distance charges were a nagging added cost so at the end of July '05 I migrated to 'Cingular' digital. The service and reception dropped to 'useless'. The nice folks at the store (S. Livermore Ave.) tell me that 'problems are currently common in the area' due to T-Mobile reacquiring towers an Cingular migrating towers. In any event dropped calls are common, dead spots abound and the service is, unfortunately, useless. The folks at the store state the Samsung phone is not to blame and that a different phoe would make little, if any, difference. Three weeks later I'm ready to switch.
