I moved matter of 5 blocks to Granada Ave, to find that I get no service at all. Unbelievable! I was forced to buy a freakin magic jack so I can get calls in my home. I want to leave, but need my Iphone. I wish I could just get a few bars atleast. I mean C'mon AT&T!
The service with everyone's phone (except Verizon for some reason) that comes to our place is super weak! I can go from 4 bars to no bars in 1 minute. There is no reason and no solution for this. I go outside and it helps a bit... but it's so erratic that I try to just call people from work. I bought a cell phone repeater (300 bucks) to try and solve the problem... i placed the antenna in the attic. It helps a little, but it still is so irregular... I just want a CONSTANT signal strength. Can anyone tell me why the signal comes and goes so frequently here?
Lousy reception, in Long Beach (home), Santa Monica (work), and everywhere in between. I feel like I got hosed. I jumped from T-Moble because I didn't like their handsets. Now I love my handset but most of my phone calls either break off or are so full of static that I give up and use a land-line.
Horrible service both inside and outside our home. Dropped calls are the norm... my friends hate when I call them from my cell phone for this very reason. Can't wait until my contract is up and I am switching to Verizon.
Bluff Park--ATT was horrible for 4 years, Cingular is even worse, doesn't matter what phone, I've had 4 of them. I'm going to try Verizon and will report. Cannot use Cingular anywhere south of 4th st, many dropped calls at Cherry and 7th and inside any buildings. Phone is useless in Bluff Park.
Never really had too much of a problem with Cingular. I have read alot of complaints here... *fingers crossed* I had Sprint and they were alright too... except there customer service was HORRIBLE. Unless they outsourced the call to India, where I had the most educated, well-spoken and genuinely attentive CSR's, who even went so far as to call me back the next day to MAKE SURE everything had gone thru okay. Let me repeat, they called me. So much for keeping it in the good ole USA. The thing to remember, is all cell phone service providers are evil. They are making uncalculatable amounts of profit and hanging you (their customer) out to dry on extortion-like lenghty contracts. The moral is find one that works for you. BTW - the quality and make of phone helps significantly. I get good service at home, on the road and with the help of unlocked phones, even when I travel out of the country. All I could want is a louder speaker phone option, coz when you're driving, or busy outside swinging an axe / hammer / golf club and logic dictates you can't do that with the phone pressed to your ear, you can't hear a thing. I wonder how that Motorola RAZR is?
We have AT&T GSM Service with Motorola V180 phones. I have noticed that the service seems to be getting worse. We experience frequent dropped calls and poor coverage. Incomming calls frequently roll over to voice mail.
Old AT&T TDMA service, worked well, until we went on vacation. We have two devices of the same model and manufacture date. Well, the situation is now that one teases you a bit letting you think you might get in a convo, the other just isn't that kinda girl and not a tease. The really fun part was while we were on vacation, all calls home, to the ATT, the ONLY phone service in the house, were met with all circuits busy or just no signal and straight to voice mail. Cingular states that they are "working" on the issue. Oh, and they would like to move us to the GSM service, it will be "definitely more reliable." Service is often good elsewhere in the area, but at home, no go. So, in conclusion, this service is like a cheating husband, great everywhere else, but lousy at home and worthy of a thrashing. Cheers
