my Motorola phone gets good signal outside about 2-3 signal bars but when I go inside its very bad. I got the Samsung t809 but that phone drops several calls and doens't get a lot of signal. I'm thinking about changing my phone company to Cingular because they get better signal in buildings especially stores and schools were T-Mobile fails to get anything.

Audiovox SMT5600
Belmont Shore / Naples, Long Beach, CA 90803 Mon Oct 10, 2005

Reception on Shore side of 2nd St.Bridge is never consistent, and spotty at best. Signal strength rarely exceeds 2-3 bars, and typically shows 0-1 bars. Independent of phone model (I've had several Nokias and currenty use an Audiovox) phone calls frequently ring once at most, and then go either directly to my voice mail, or to a recording saying my number (of 5 years) was no longer in service. Lovely. Signal strength on the Naples side of the bridge is usually around 3 bars. And on either side of the bridge, text message notification often comes hours after message was originally sent, and some messages are never received at all. (Tho I did get one last week, around the 5th of October, dated March 16! Go figure... )

Used to have great reception with AT&T. Since Cingular took over, I have noticed a steady decline in reception. Calls drop very frequently now, and I never used to drop them berfore. I used to be able to make calls within my house; now I have no signal. Time to switch carriers. Cingular is pretty bad.

If you are inside a building such as the Student Union on campus, chances of any reception are very slim. You need to be out in the open away from structures and not in between buildings either to get some reception. At peak times (around noon and 5pm), the network is busy even though you get reception. Either you would need to get away from campus or just wait till the peak time is over.

My reception was never very good at my apartment since I got my new phone in April. But this last week it's gotten considerably worse. I even had a dropped called while I was sitting in my car on the street! I can't keep a phone conversation going for longer than a few minutes now. I will have to get a land line if it doesn't get better. I have Verizon and unfortunately just renewed my contract. I'm going to test other's carrier's reception where I live in preparation for a switch.

Dropped calls. No 3g data. Can't text without raising your arm or putting phone near window. Switched to Verizon and mo problems. Did not have as many issues before T-Mobile switched their network over to 4G.
