Very poor reception at home or in the car near by. Amazing to me that in the heart of Los Altos I can't make a call.

I used Verizon in the past for several years and never received good coverage at my home or any where it. I changed to Cingular in 2005 because my job required me to be in cell range and I worked at home. It was much better then. Cingular has added towers in this area in the past year or so and I have excellent reception and no dropped calls.

I get 0-2 bars (out of a possible 6). Also get "searching for service" frequently. I know Los Altos has poor coverage due to restrictive city ordinances, but I get poor reception at my home.

I was doubtful my mid range phone would be very good, but I get 5 bars inside, near Loucks and S.A Rd. The call quality is exceptionally clear and life like. Cingular was very poor here and the reception voices were very distorted. Friends say the Sprint phone is very clear and accurate on their end too. I had Verizon for two years before this, and maybe it was the phone, but this service is distinctly better.

Reception is poor in my house, but gets better closer to Los Altos High School. In fact, moving in almost any direction improves reception! My new phone gets better reception than my old phone (Sanyo SCP-4000), but not a lot better.

Metro is cheap and unlimited. They drop your calls and the customer service is the WORST. I'm sorry if anyone else lies to you - I could not live with myself. I subscribe to their service because I am on a budget and for unlimited calling. Ive called customer service, held for tooo long only to have my call dropped before anyone helped me or before I finished explaining why I called. My friends call me and say "GettroPCS, may we drop your call?" and its funny because Metro is the most Gettto service u can get.

All cellphones I've had (Nokia 8200, Sony Ericsson T68i, Treo 650) get either 1 bar or No Service at my house.

The AT7T coverage is horrible. I get no reception at home, my son gets none at school at CAL Berkeley, and the phone drops out while I am traveling on 280. I'm looking for another carrier.
