I live north of Franklin, east of Cahuenga, and I'm lucky if I get one bar in my house. Often, I have no service. And if I do get a call out, it drops. I have to stand out on the sidewalk to make a call, and even then, I only have three bars. AT&T Customer Service told me, "It's a cellphone. We don't guarantee coverage indoors." WTF? I'm switching to Verizon next week. Anything will be better than AT&T.

I've got the typical iPhone experience - love the phone, hate the network. AT&T coverage is horrendous. Work on mid-Wilshire and there is a huge dead zone around 6th / Fairfax. But, c'mon - let's give AT&T a break... why should we expect them to offer basic coverage in the middle of Los Angeles? It's just such frustrating service. I'm thankful it works in my residence, but just drops calls ALL the time (and not just in the usual canyon spots). Saturday was a perfect example - driving from downtown to Studio on the 101. My call was dropped... wait for it... FOUR times. I just laugh now. The only choice now is which carrier to jump to.

in and out reception through wilshire and voicemail messages show up days later. phone was less than 1 years old. we have the AT&T family plan and are paying at least $100 - $120 a month- too expensive for crappy service. we just finished our contract and am thinking of switching to verizon.

AT&T... horrible. Live up in Beachwood Canyon (Right under the Hollywood Sign). I have never been able to make a phone call in my house. I mean NEVER. I'm able to make a call when I drive down Beachwood Dr. reaching Franklin Blvd. What was it again? "at&t nation's fastest network". Looking around for something new.

I can't believe I've stayed with ATT this long considering the poor reception I get. I don't think Sprint works well so I'm on the hunt for something else. ATT also doesn't have very good phones.

The worst service possible. We would not get calls shown on our phones when people call us, and when we call out to other phones, they would have no idea that we tried to call them, no matter where we are. It's the worst when you're out there, trying to meet up with people, and they don't get your calls and you don't receive calls. By far the worst service we've ever experienced on all 3 of our phone lines. Despite numerous attempts of complaints over phone, in store, exchange phones, nothing improves after 6 months since we started service. Just got 2 months of credit back from the manager since they do not waive the cancellation charge, and I'm going to cancel the service today. DO NOT SWITCH TO AT / T.

i had to get the new 3g data plan as I lost my old I phone in new york and upgraded to the new 1 phone 4. I found myself paying up to $30-$40 more a month.. up to $120. the 3g network is awful! here. dropped calls all over los angeles. hollywood. I am in a 2 year contract and feel stuck. i did everything to try and improve the reception. new sim card. they basically said at at&t. get off the 3g network and use the old edge network. which actually works. but WHY am I paying more for no service. customer service said my problem were solved because it worked on edge. wait, I am paying for a faster 3 g data plan that I can barely use. literally highway robbery, however I probably would have a dropout on the highway! i had less phone dropouts with the original iphone that was almost 3 years old. I love the technology of the I phone and the camera. waiting to see if there is an improvement with verizon. wish I could jailbreak for T-Mobile but I see that the service is not that great. so considering breaking contract to get a regular Verizon or Sprint phone here. oh, I also work in new york. and I see it's having problems there. they have no problem taking our money. amazing. T-Mobile had bad service in new york too. oh well. trying to get out of at&t. it's a total sham.

I've complained several dozen times to AT&T about my lack of service at my home. To date they have absolutely no explanation or solution to the problem to offer me, other than they are overloaded with iphones in the area. Sometimes I have all the bars so I know it's possible to get a signal, but then a second later we're back to nothing. I can rarely use it for a telephone, I even dowloaded the skype app to make calls. Shame. I love the iphone and I was happy with AT&T which I've had since 1999. My contract is over. Adios AT&T. We had a good run for a long time.
