1 Out of 5 (1 star) | N. La Jolla Ave. and Melrose | Between Melrose and Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90046 |

Constant dropped calls. Incredibly poor to absolutely no reception. 3g network seems very slow. Very disappointed in AT&T, which has far better coverage in NYC.

After reading about the other choices maybe Verizon is not as bad as the others. It is still a very low bar to go by or should I say no bar to go by. I have had Verizon for 15 years. Before I upgraded to the Samsung 4 g the reception was almost none existing at my house. The 4 g is much better for calls, but for going on line forget it unless it's 3 am. Part of the problem is these towers get over loaded. We have so many people with 4 g now on the Westside that it is slowing everything down again! I was thinking about switching today, but maybe Verizon is the best of the worst. Like I say "Go With The Crook You Know"

Sprint

i had Verizon and fell for the 45 unlimited plan by Sprint and it feels like I broke up with my love and got with the wrong girl as a rebound, I'm currently in a feud with Sprint over my return policy which they said was completely reversible. Anyways I've never really thought of Verizon as being bad, but sometimes it takes a shitload to load.

Sprint service is the worst. Slowest data compared to others. Makes me want to vandalize their store!

Crappy network. Slowest ever, speed tester at 0.1mb / second on average. Friends with Verizon test at 12.0mb / sec, ATT at 6.0mb / sec, T-Mobile at 2.2mb / sec. If you think it's not much it's extremely slow. Imagine not being able to use the navigation app or stream music like Pandora. Picture messages most often fail to be sent.

Terrible! Left Verizon for this crap! I feel like protesting outside their business. No LTE and 3G runs slower than the old Edge speed. They are in the Stone Age with speed.

I bar at best. Go 1 block east or west of Robertson and good luck getting any signal.

Beside no reception, trying to get help was a bust, had to return phone and got nothing but grief. I will have to contest charges with my credit card company. Don't even think about using them no matter how good the deal sounds.

Verizon

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Mar Vista and All Around Los Angeles Area, Los Angeles, CA 90066 |

Usually works well. Calls drop only very rarely. Sometimes text messages take two or three tries and sometimes very slow data. But better than the T-Mobile service I had 18 months ago. Verizon customer service is deplorable. They are all bad, but among Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, I have found T-Mobile to be the least awful.

AT&T

I had AT&T for many years when I lived in NJ. Loved it and their customer service can't be beat! My son moved to LA in 2007 and I started getting dropped calls while talking to him. I visited him in LA in 2008 and every call I made from his apt. was dropped. So when I moved here in May, 2013 I switched to Verizon. I call NJ and NY often and no more dropped calls. I guess I'm stuck with expensive, arrogant, illuminati Verizon because IT WORKS every time! (but sucks to pay $200 for 2 phones!) I wish AT&T worked better where I live!

4 Out of 5 (4 stars) | Wedbush Building | Figuroa and 7th, Los Angeles, CA 90017 |

Recently switched from Verizon to T Mobile since the price is right with T Mobile. Was initially concerned about the service but after getting my iphone 5s activated I realize that T Mobile is awesome. I travel a lot around LA and the service has been great, I've gotten either 4g or LTE. The unlimited data has been great. In my office, the phone works good, phone reception is fine, and data is pretty quick

My Sprint coverage is just terrible on Larchmont blvd, its really frustrating since I work in the area and I just watched Verizon put up a shiny new tower right next to my business.

AT&T

AT&T is not good in Beachwood Canyon. It's not good at Lake Hollywood. And it's awful throughout Griffith Park. I used to have to walk out of my house to make a cell call--until I bought a mini-cell-tower that runs off the internet. My next door neighbor also had to leave his house to make a phone call. Then he switched to Verizon and now he can make calls from his basement. Yes, I'm serious. I am switching to Verizon as soon as my contract with AT&T is up. For what it's worth, AT&T is good in lower Hollywood and West Hollywood and good at La Brea and Santa Monica, and generally good in most other situations I've encountered throughout LA. But the Hollywood Hills? And Griffith park? Absolute shite.

No reception what so ever at work. Total dead zone. Drop calls in numerous places every single day on my commute as well. Definitely don't get what I pay for. Everytime I call customer service I just get lip service. I'm done with them and will find a mord affordable option. Can't be any worse.

I am glad that there is a poll that can guide me to a carrier that possibly has better service in my area. Thanks!

I once had T Mobile, I once had cricket, after multiple drops calls and no signal areas I chose Verizon. I now have the best reception I have ever had and can travel from the city to the country and out of state and always have a signal. I wish Verizon was not so expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Phone is constantly dropping off the network when I drive between Culver City, Venice, and all the way down the shore to Redondo Beach. When I kept complaining to ATT, the put me in touch with an escalated tech person. She looked into the area, and found that there are THOUSANDS of ATT microcell towers- which means there are thousands of ATT customers in this area who also have poor service. She concluded that they just have bad service in this area, and no intention to make it any better. She even offered to buy me out of my contract, since she admitted my service won't get any better in the foreseeable future. In other words, ATT is aware they have crappy service on the Westside, yet they have no plans to make it better.

Verizon

3 Out of 5 (3 stars) | Ophir Dr. In Westwood, Los Angeles, CA 90024 |

I switched from AT&T to Verizon in 2010. Living in San Francisco, I had an excellent connection data speed indoors for both my cell phone and internet. Outdoors cell phone was great. Then... I move to LA in 2011 near UCLA. Well my data connection speed for both cell and internet dropped drastically indoors. Even near a floor to ceiling / wall to wall window. I no longer get 4 bars, let alone barely 2 bars with 3g. I rarely get 4g since moving to LA. I really am fed up with not getting what I pay for!
