No reception Sometimes if I stand still, it works for a second. I can not be reached. Conclusion: I surveyed quite a few people that spend most of the time in that area to find out which provider has better reception. Answer: No doubt Verizon. Pros: Verizon has a better reception in US, great clarity. Cons: Customer Service is not their forte. About T-Mobile: Better price. Great International Services. Friendly customer service

Just last week, out of no-where, my phone just fizzles out and drops calls. My phone is fairly new and up until last Sunday, I could call from a cave and it would work. Stopped into Cingular where the guy tried to talk me out of my current new phone for another model. Makes NO sense and my calls are fine west of where I live, but I can't hold onto a call for more than a few seconds inside my apartment or anywhere on my block. I called Cingular, too and they said there was a tower down that "should" be fixed. We'll see...

From Crenshaw to LaBrea I cannot get a signal. My phone will go to No Service. Once I cross LaBrea the phone will work properly. I cannot sit in front of my house and use my cell phone or receive calls in my house from someone else's cell phone.

Only rarely get reception. Most of the time the phone doesn't ring - will get a message that I have a voice mail waiting. Had Sprint before and that was just as bad. I had a friend over who had Cingular and it seemed to work okay - not great.

I have to lean out my window to make a call. Even when I do this I only have at most two bars. Cingular is the WORST for dropped calls and bad reception in Hollywood. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You can also google the class action lawsuit against Cingular. I hope that they rot in hell.

Maybe because of the building, we can barely get two bars. My wife is using same T-Mobile with Motorolar. This one never gets the reception.

Reception is excellent everywhere. Usually my friends with other phone companies have less bars wherever we are even in the mountains. When a call drops it is usually their carrier. But Verizon is pricy. I am trying Sprint for 5 days and the reception at Verizon is better. I am trying to decied between spending lots of money on the best reception with Verizon Or getting free nights at Sprint starting at 6pm. Verizon also has better customer service. I had to wait 10 minutes for someone at Sprint. And to cancel service at Sprint you have to call first.

Garfield High School Bad reception with Sprint unless you hold the phone over your shoulder with the antenna up like it says in the manual. Missed calls will not show up on the phone. Excellent reception with Verizon everywhere.

Coverage is spotty. Four bars quickly turn to one. Calls mysteriously drop. New Cingular tower is going in on San Rafael, but I'm reluctant to switch because of all the bad feedback on Cingular.

Cingular claims the least dropped calls. That is because most don't go through. My phone vacillates between no bars and 2 bars. Suddenly when you least expect it there is a voice mail alert or text message alert - worst part is the message isn't very new. Sometimes the message has been a day old. My work phone is Verizon with a Motorola V265 - at 90040 and 90064 - never miss a call, never drops a call. DO NOT go with CINGULAR!

I'm only a few blocks up from Franklin off Beachwood Drive. Beachwood has long been a "black hole" for cellular reception. I barely get 1 bar in my house, and that's only if I stand in the kitchen. I recently brought home a Verizon phone for comparison purposes, because everyone told me it would be better -- but it sucked equally. T-Mobile also sucked. Not sure about Sprint, but I'm told they put in a tower. This is a majorly populated area of Los Angeles -- how could there STILL BE NO TOWERS in f--ng 2006????

I average between 1-2 bars. The only way to improve my reception is to walk closer to the window. So far Cingular has had the best service here with Verizon a close second. T-Mobile is a marginal upgrade from my previous Sprint service (too many dropped calls).

We get almost no reception in our house or back yard- okay but spotty reception in our front yard. Sometimes our service will be fine and then suddenly drop for no reason. We had the same phones in Venice and Marina del Rey with no problems, moved last week and have had unreliable service since then.

Avoid Cingular at all costs. I can't get service anywhere between east hollywood and echo park. No service on Rowena either. Customer service, as others have indicated, is bad.

I live a few blocks west of Lincoln and Manchester and I have no reception inside my house. I can get maybe 1 bar of choppy conversation outside. I had the same problem with my Cingular service. Maybe I'm in a dead zone!

El Sereno MS gets no reception with Verizon. For all of us who work here, it doesn't matter what phone we have. Of course Cingular has 4 bars. I'd like to see where that "Can You Hear Me Now" Guy is!
