Reception bars on phone jump from 3 to zero to 1 to 2 to zero and so on constantly. Almost all calls either don't connect "out of range" or if connected are dropped. Reception used to be fine in this area. Sprint "customer care" pretends to "reconfigure the software" when complaints are called in which obviously does not fix the problem

Cingular service is back to normal, thank goodness.

As of yesterday afternoon, my service is back to the way it was two weeks ago: perfect. Hopefully this will continue to last.

My wife and I had Verizon and we could barely get calls in our house, halfway up Beachwwod, with many droped calls or straight to voicemail. Tried T-Mobile - same or worse. Tried Sprint! and got pretty good reception! - Phone works all over our house, and my wife and I talked all the way to her work, where previously she allways hit a dead spot on the Verizon network that droped her calls. If you live in the Hollywood Hills / Beachwood Canyon, then Sprint is the phone service to get. I even get a good internet connection on my phone now!

I just spoke with Cingular, they claim the voicemail is screwed up because of a tower outage--if it isn't one story it's another.

I don't know if the problem is fixed completely but the Cingular service seems to be working for me this afternoon. I am on a GSM network and they told me it would be fixed today. Has anyone else seen the service improve today?

For 4 or 5 days, virtually no reception, after months of perfect service. Bars go from zero to five, and then back to zero. This has been going on for much too long. Customer service at Cingular is terrible. They tell me to do the usual, turning phone on and off... they now tell me that they have some cell "problems." Over several days, I can't get details, other than work to fix the problem "is in progress." Every time I call them to check to see when I will get service, they insist that I go throught the inane steps noted above. They gave me one month's credit, but that doesnn't get my phone working. I am going to quite them--trying to figure out how to fight them when they charge me a termination fee when I transfer to a new carrier, which I'm about to do.

Called Cingular again today. They said there were a couple of cell tower problems. -They estimate the GSM service to be up by tomorrow afternoon. -No estimate for when the TDMA service would be fixed. Dapper

I've got a 1 week old RAZR phone that has absolutely no reception either in my house or within a 1 mile radius for that matter. I called Cingular and the representative told me that maybe "someone" (as though she couldn't / wouldn't say if it was actually Cingular who made the changes...) moved a tower or something. She assured me that there were no problems in my area. So why, then, did I have great reception last week and now NOTHING? Talking to the representative from Cingular was like talking to a wall. Around and around we went--no answers and no word when we might (if ever) regain the clear reception we once had.

Brentwood Area - Cingular Network SOS only! I guess everyone with Cingular has been frustrated with their network reception and customer service this past week. I have missed numerous important Business calls over the past week.

This is maddening. Not able to make or receive calls, or access internet. Cingular blams it on power outage last week--saying "it takes time to get the towers back up and running"--whatever!

My phone and corp email were fine before the blackout and now they are still down after I dont know how many days.

Zippo reception for almost a week. I am switching to another carrier.

What is wrong with Cingular? They just told me there are no outages, no problems with towers, etc. That there must be something wrong with my 2 day old phone!?!?!?!?! I think not!

Was told by Cingular rep that there are "several" towers down within a 1 mile radius of my apartment for several days now... .and they don't know when they will be fixed. She advised me to call back once I got my bill in the mail to request a credit to my account for lost coverage.

basically no reception in Brentwood area since tuesday. Phone does not work anywhere inside or outside my apartment or even down the street. Not getting voicemails or txt msgs. Called Cingular 3 times and can only get them to tell me "yes there are problems" but no one can tell me what the problems are or when they will be fixed.

I have had ZERO reception since last weekend. This is extremely frustrating. Am considering switching to Verizon. It seems this whole area of Brentwood (in LA) has gone under. Is Cingular doing anything about this?

I used to get full service (all bars) in my apartment. Now I get absolutely nothing. I work four blocks away, on Wilshire, and get all bars there (service kicks in on about Goshen). Absolutely horrible. This started about the same time as the L.A. Black-out on Monday. I called Cingular, and they are having a technician check on it. A friend of mine lives up on Barrington a few blocks and is having the same trouble.

Have 3 LG Phones - This week (2) went to EMERG ONLY when trying to dial any number from this area. Works fine when dialing from Santa Monica. Swapped Simm card from working phone to other two and reception is restored. Will try new Simm card but situation is confusing. Maybe something to do with the transmission frequency.

I have Cingular Service and it used to work perfectly fine until the last week. Now it is always SOS only. Have to walk out of the complex to the street to get reception
