T-Mobile
I can't maintain a conversation for more than a few minutes. A sustained conversation requires several repeated calls. Oversubscription is a likely suspect.

Pretty good. I switched from AT&T GSM which had crap reception on Sony Ericsson T68i. Around the rest of L.A. (particularly driving on freeways), there are spotty / dropout sections where I can always count on conversations taking a repetitive turn (for instance, in residential Santa Monica). But in Silver Lake, I can hold full, uninterrupted conversations while partaking in such rewarding activities as sitting, cooking, showering, etc.

Generally unpredictable and unreliable in home atop hill. Usually reflects full reception bars -- while not in use. Drops to one or two bars during calls. Often drops calls entirely. Wireless internet is often unavailable or when lucky, excessively slow.

Most of the distance from downtown LA to the 405 I never get any reception. Weird for such a populous area.

No reception in most part of the building, minimal reception in a small portion of the building.

Has great reception near freeways / major roads but in 45% of the residential areas low or no good reception at all! But full reception everywhere in and around downtown Los Angeles! :)

Sometimes 1 bar reception, insufficient for making calls.

Network is constantly going in and out with the handset resting. Just a horrible reception.

Service hardly works at home. Constantly going in and out while standing still. Lots of problems for carriers here due to the airport being a couple miles away. Just a horrible reception.

T-Mobile reception drops to zero in front of my friend's apartment building. I've experienced this across three different handsets so far -- a Samsung S105, a Nokia 6610, and my current Motorola V300. All three models have exhibited great RF otherwise and elsewhere.
