Coverage is very spotty in this neighborhood. South of Wilshire and east of Westwood is bad. I see a note that says it's bad west of westwood as well. Verizon seems to have the best coverage in this area.

My cell phone is essential dead in my apartment. Voice quality is subpar when I do get reception. Dropped calls all the time. In my travels overseas (South America, Europe) I've never had a problem anywhere. AT&T is pathetic. I'm unlocking my iphone and going elsewhere.

Reception fluctuates wildly between 0-5 bars. Calls frequently drop. Reception is generally poor. Clear weather marginally improves reception.

I've never had a problem with Verizon coverage... never. Not on the west coast or the east coast or driving from one end of the USA to the other.

I live in Laurel Canyon and I get two bars or less (usually can't make any calls, and when I do they're dropped or inaudible) from Sunset Blvd. over the hill past Mullholland all along Laurel Canyon Blvd. I also get zero service anywhere more than 100 yards up any of the streets in the canyon. I love my phone. Too bad the service is so bad. Total bummer.

Unbelievable how many times I have tried to make calls and no service. I've been paying for Media package and most of the time I can't read the paper. Comments "Not Available", so after 2 years and sick of poor service and now finished with their contract, I'm done. More information to AT&T customers, I was unable to get help via my resident phone re., my cell because I could not recall the new digital password they assigned me and after giving my Social Security no., and guessing a dozen or so numbers for possible passwords the Supervisor said, we can't help you. you will have to go to a store and take the phone for any help, crumbs, I told her I'd like to cancel the cell phone service and of course I got the old I'll transfer you, hold must have been timed for a couple of hours, but they're not the only company that have poor service, WHY ARE WE TAKING IT, BIG COMPANIES DON'T GIVE CRAPPOLA ABOUT US. THE MORE YOU PAY THEM THE WORST THEY TREAT YOU, good luck you will need it, I made up my mind to get smart and give up blah, blah, blah that I'm paying for that makes me so unhappy. Buy a phone, forget about contracts. they just drain you,and pain you.

Very good reception with VZW. Virtual dead zone for Cingular / AT&T; their reception virtually cuts out on Glendale Blvd.once you cross San Fernando Rd heading SE.

3-4 years ago Verizon was the best carrier on UCLA's campus. Now, service is very spotty in many of the larger buildings on campus. Friends with AT&T get much better service inside buildings. Service outdoors is still good.

I have had this Blackberry and T-Mobile for 3yrs+, and have never had issues getting a signal, except in a location in Inglewood / Culver City. I also have a land line in the house on the rare occasions I can not get a signal. Thanks for the info on AT&T, I won't get the Bold.

I have an unlocked iPhone with a T-Mobile SIM card and the reception here is very bad. No service 80% of the time, and one bar 15% of the time. Strangely 5% of the time I get two or three bars. This variation happens even when the phone is stationary. This I do not understand. The iPhone is terrific in every way except as a phone. I was hoping AT&T would be better but based on the reviews here, it's not. Too bad Verizon isn't GSM...
