Still no reception West of Highland. If there's a new tower, does nothing for us living here. Can't wait for Verizon to get iPhone, I'll pay the fee and jump off the ATT nightmare. Or maybe I should just switch to Droid now.

Just started getting good reception at our house after needing to walk up the alley half a block prior. Drove by the 27th and Grandview site and it was recently dug up and refilled, with an ATT sign on one of the boxes. So I assume this is the working box. Finally

After weeks of tweaking and debugging, new tower at this location is on. I now get 4 / 5 bars in a former "dead spot" downstairs. One antenna is pointed at the beach, one southeast, and the third northeast. Beams are broad, so anyone in the vicinity should get good coverage.

Hey 27th St. / Grandview... .. If you happen to see this, can you confirm that you are still getting 5-bar reception? I have a hard time believing that the tower is up and running - considering I still get 0 bars. This is very frustrating!

The representative at the AT&T store on Sepulveda told me the tower would not be up until September? Is it true that the tower at 27th and Grandview is already working? It hasn't helped my reception at all. I have no reception in my house.

If there is a new tower at Sand Dune Park, it must be pointing somewhere else. We live at the top of 33rd St. right above the dune at Blanche. Seeing anything other than Searching... or nothing is unusual. Signal down Blanche is the same. I routinely use the AT&T app Mark The Spot to let them know. I got a text message from them a month ago saying there would be a new tower going up in the next 60-90 days. I assume that meant the Sand Dune one? Well, no signal improvement yet. We are coming up on contract end and wife is vehement that we switch to Verizon.

Increased problems over last week or so, which now makes sense as apparently the wonderful AT&T have put a new tower at Sand Dune Park at end of July. Well it seems to have negatively affected the signal to the east and south of the park - i.e. No Service! At home (I can see the park from my garden to the North) I can usually get just about 1-2 bars, enough to check vm - now have no service at all. Even our Microcell booster, which works 100% with the 3GS and 4G iPhone, is not giving much of a signal and we've noticed problems in the last week or so. Explains why my husband's been having recent problems with business calls on his 4G. There is also No Service driving along Blanche to Rosecrans and to Valley, where as before, it was one or two bars. Am so sick of these problems AT&T!

Update on new AT&T cell tower above Sand Dune ridge. Just turned on at midnight on 28 July 2010. 5 bars, with excellent 3G speed. Antennas point back to beach, and over tree section below ridge - Ladera school area, Sand Dune park. Enjoy.

Hooray. AT&T is installing new transmitters on the sand dune ridge along Grand View and 27th in Manhattan Beach. Construction will take several weeks. Local AT&T reps in retail stores estimate 3rd or 4th quarter to get on line. This should provide coverage for at least the dead spot in the Bell street corridor and tree section below the ridge.

Coverage is awful. I get 2 bars in the front yard, 1 or 0 anywhere inside the house. After four days of AT&T service, I've dropped more calls than I did in the 6 years with Verizon. The sales reps at the AT&T store on MB Blvd.and Sepulveda claim that two new towers are scheduled to be installed in April 2010--one on Aviation (no cross st. info available) and one on 3rd St. somewhere between Valley and the beach. I'll believe it when I see 5 bars on my phone.

There's a dead zone for AT&T from about 2nd and Redondo to 8th and Redondo to 8th and Aviation to 2nd and Aviation. Area is a little valley, must be the problem, but it is very frustrating. I've reported this a zillion times to AT&T.

so ridiculous. I can put my phone down on the left side of my desk and get calls, but on the right, fuggedaboudit! Very very annoying since I work from home. I have reported this a zillion times. It used to be good until they stopped sharing T Mobile towers. Now they don't care anymore about service.

There is apparently a poorly coordinated switching tower here. If I am on a call when driving past the intersection on the West side of 2nd, the call will drop 85 percent of the time and get garbled the other 15 percent. However, you can immediately make another call and it will be perfectly clear. Something just doesn't switch over correctly at this spot -- it is awful.

I have tried several carriers and the reception in this area is bad for all of them. Most calls drop within a minute or two. I have to call everyone back on a land line. We need another cell tower in this area badly!

I recently switched from Sprint to Cingular and I couldn't believe how good the reception is in my office building. Sprint had very poor reception here. Then I notice it looks like there is a cell tower on top of this building per this website! The problem is I have very poor reception at home in N. Redondo Beach where I need it more!

Crappy reception. The phone will show 5 bars so I'll make a call, then mid-conversation, the call gets dropped and my bars will be down to 1 or none. And that's without either me or the phone moving an inch. (I use the headset and set the phone down on a table). Can't wait 'til my contract is up in two weeks. Friends say Verizon does better in this area. Guess I'll find out for myself soon.
