Reception is generally pretty good anywhere I go with some problems is east modesto; Stockton Airport area. Generally 3 to 5 bars. Phone is Siemens GSM / GPRS / TDMA purchased 18 months ago. Also have Nokia 3360 and it performs about the same. Some dropped calls but bearable. Biggest complaint is with customer service at AT&T. Long wait to talk with them 20-40 minutes, then they say what they think you want to hear whether it is the truth or not. they have outright lied to me on different occasions about my plans. My family has had up to 4 phones at one time with AT&T. Currently 3 phones, just got a Motorola V220 for one of the kids, too early to tell how well it works.

Never a dull moment in reception on the east side of Manteca. I always have full service. AT&T GSM seems to be good to me out in the valley compared to the bay area. And all around Manteca I never fall more than 3 bars.

switched to Sprint 3 days ago. have had AT&T for 5 plus years with no complaints, other then how much they wanted for a family data plan. thought I would give Sprint a try an well, so far at my house I have 1 to zero bars. where my AT&T phone has got 3-4 bars. cant receive text or phone call for the most part. other then my house coverage has been great. just dont know if I can deal with the fact of no coverage at home, without a land-line

I have been a Sprint customer for 3 years. I rarely have dropped calls and it's usually if I am in Walmart for some reason. My husband has AT&t and gets dropped calls all the time. I can receive calls at work where other co-workers with different companies cannot seem to get any service. My children have Samsung phones and even though they get good service the Sanyo seems to hold more bars and get better reception and phone quality. I verified this with a employee with sprint, Sanyo is the better phone. Plus they seem to be the only company available in my area that gives you the choice of a rugged phone.

I live in Manteca, I have mobile business. I need a carrier who can offer a lot of minutes for a good price.
I just started a contract with T-Mobile 2 days ago. The coverage is very poor so far. I only get 1 bar from my home. I have tried to find out the dead zones in the area. So far no luck. The Coverage I had before was Metro PCS, the phone I was using was a Nokia 3588i. I would get 3 to 4 bars from home but the quality of the reception was not very good. And Metro PCS coverage around the area I live was ok until I would travel to Modesto or Oakdale where their is no coverage at all. I need better coverage. HELP
I have 12 days to cancel the contact. I really liked what T-Mobile had to offer, but that does me know good If I can not use my phone from my home.

I live in Northeast Manteca and I just switched from AT&T to Verizon hoping to get better reception, plus I love the Treo 600 and didn't want to use it on AT&T's GSM network. I am very disappointed with the service after 3 days of use. I have had many dropped calls in these 3 days. The most reception I get is 3 bars but that is intermittent. I also commute to Tracy to work at the Tracy Defense Depot and I can't manage to make / keep a call until I travel 3-5 miles further west into Tracy or 5-10 miles east to I-5. As much as I hate to say this - I'm ready to switch back to AT&T. You would think in today's "technological" society that we shouldn't have to settle for 2-3 bars of service in highly populated areas but my choice of wireless provider is definitely based on The Lesser of All Evils! Anyone had experience with Nextel?
