In the Mariner's Village complex in Marina del Rey there is virtually NO cell reception with AT&T. I have to leave the complex to make or recieve a call. I called to ask what could be done due to this unacceptable service and they said that there will be several more towers added to the area sometime in early 2012. I recommend using a land line or another mobile carrier for convenience and safety. It's not ok to not be able to communicate with emergency responders when calling 911.

3 and 4 most of the time - on occasion a 5. I have done field tests too and it seems fairly consistent. The fact is that all cell phones with all carriers will drop calls. Even with a tower next door or on your roof, calls will be dropped.

Verizon is best by far in LA and Marina T-Mobile isnt bad either ATT is by far worst cell company wouldnt buy them unless u want to use your phone as a clock and calculator, My Verizon works perfect inside and out of Marina Harbor Apartments, I drive for living only dead zones I know in LA are Sepulvada tunnel skirball ctr drive and no service in Palisades Highlands (because they wont let T-Mobile Sprint or Verizon build towers here}.

About 4 months ago my iphone 3G started dropping calls at my place in the Dolphin Marina. I'm with ATT. It has gotten steadily worse. I'll have to try 8-10 times to get a call out and then it drops. For one recent call it took 7 attempts and 5 drops to finally finish. Another call, I gave up after 8 drops and asked my neighbor to use his land line. It works better once I leave Panay Way but still have many dropped calls in the Marina. It works fine in other states but this is where I live and it's terrible. I've complained and they say they are putting up nine new towers by the end of March but I am so frustrated! Does anyone have good cell service in the Marina - what company????

Horrible reception with the new EVO 4G by HTC. Got it for business and home use, but I miss calls entirely while in my room, and if they do come in, then the signal is dropped almost immediately or they cannot hear me. I have to stand by my balcony window or on the balcony itself to have a conversation. Inside the Mariner's Village library my calls are dropped within 1 to 2 minutes. There is almost no place I can go to comfortably have a conversation. The phone itself is great and does everything you would expect from such a device, but the poor service makes it unusable. I don't want the Sprint Airwave in my home either, as I would like to avoid the extra radiation. Besides, if I left my home then it still wouldn't work well. So I guess I am left with little choice but to return it for another. I used to have T-Mobile, and this seemed good. Average of 1 dropped call per year across the 4 years I had it.

Worst service possible. Zero reception. My roommates with Verizon have perfect call quality sitting next to me- while I can't place / receive calls on ATT's network.

At&T service continues to get worse all over LA, but especially here at home. Even 1 year ago it was better. Now I usually have to step outside to balcony to have a clear call since apparently my walls must be lined with lead. I'll commonly see 5 bars, and yet calls will just drop, bars will drop to 2-no service, and then will pop back up to 5. It's ridiculous at this point. Not to be rude, but I don't live way out on a farm in Idaho, I live in one of the largest cell phone using places in the world so how is it getting worse. I understand that there is a lot of traffic on the cells, but AT&T is becoming close to unusable. Problem is, I've had Sprint and Verizon in the past, and they had problems or I would have stayed with them, but both sound better now.

Have been a Verizon (and their predecessor companies) customer since 1987. Daughter moved to Marina del Rey. Reception on Verizon is so bad as to be useless. The Verizon tech guy said "service in MDR and Culver City is not good." A very dense population of higher income customers and they provice no service? I don't get it.
