I have a prepaid plan. I couldn't get ANY bars for 5 or 6 days. I lost $350 because I didn't contact them to refill. I tried in Salinas, Monterey, Marina, CSUMB and all around the town. Not a fan of Cingulair or any other company at this point. Who'd have thought I'd be happier with a landline?

No reception in the area between Marina and San City on Hwy 1. Very weak signal in Marina and Ft Ord area. I have to use a large external antenna (Range Star) this reduce the number of dropped called in Maria but still very weak. Stronger reception in the Monterey area except Pacific Grove near the beach / light house area.

Ft Ord has to be one of the largest conversions to civilian use areas in the country with hundreds of contractors working there, yet I have found noone who gets a strong signal. My Sprint phone gets nothing. Some people with T-Mobile or Verizon say they can get a bar or two from time to time. With hundreds of new houses being built at Ft Ord, you'd think that one of the cell phone companies would put a node there.

When I am at home I get two bars, outside I can get 3 o 4 bars. T-Mobile I go because of excellent customer service. Sometimes I have dropped calls on the Fort. ord area. That does not bothers me. I am a heaving texter, T-Mobile offers me good plan. I pay 65 with 1000 minutes, unlimited web and text messages.

No bars in the south east of marina. No bars in the marina Albertsons shopping center or from Delmonte Blvd. east all the way down Reservation towards salinas.. about half of marina has no bars or very bad reception.

Fort Ord stretch of hwy 1 horrible. The whole area around and on fort ord is completely ridiculous. I live on the marina side and outside I get 1 bar and inside is nothing. In sand city and marina its ok... usually 2 or 3 bars in most busy places. decent in most places... just if u live in monterey county..i wouldn't reccomend getting t-mobile. its ridiculous..especially around / on fort ord...

I've always gotten decent reception everywhere I've been from San Diego all the way up to Davis, but there are still a few places here and there where reception really sucked. I can't really remember the last time I had a dropped call.
