AT&T has greatly improved signal strength in Montara recently, now I get 4 / 5 bars in many places that I struggled with getting any kind of reception before :)

Cannot use my cell phone in my own home. On rare occasions (the middle of the night) you can receive a call. AT&T offered no help or solutions. Onward to Verizon!

Generally usable for voice and data in the flat part of Montara, especially near Main St. Fades in the hills and once north of Montara on Hwy. 1.

Absolutely no cell reception. Looking into buying a repeater and a Yagi antenna to remedy.

Really terrible service in this area, might find one bar in a few spots. Even worse the bad network confuses this phone which keeps switching into restricted mode requiring a power off to reset.

The reception here is very limited and at times, not at all. Poor customer service, as well sales people who attempted to overcharge me for a new phone. Not impressed!

Cingular service is generally good within one block of Hwy. 1 through Moss Beach and Montara, but rapidly drops off and is lost entirely just east of Etheldore in Moss Beach or Farallone in Montara. This means, for example, that there is no service at the Farallone View Elementary School or Seton Medical Center Coastside. Calls always drop between Montara and Pacifica while crossing the Devil's Slide area.

Data service unusable here. Cannot send pictures or text messages. Phone indicates "1x" network (this is verizon's CDMA 2000 service which has been declared "3G" but is more like 2.5G) active, typically showing 0 or 1 bars of signal strength. Yet, voice calls go through even at 0 bars. Signal fades entirely from time to time, dropping the phone into "power saving" mode wherein no incoming calls are received and no messages are received! Marginally better than Sprint, which is almost entirely useless around here.
