Calls come in crisp and clear. Reception is full %90 of the time. I haven't used EVDO but multimedia messages come in snappy. I had ATT(Cingular) and it was ridiculous. I went in to one of there stores and asked about the horrible service in my home and they tried to sell me something that would foward my calls to my landline.

No reception in house, phone does not even ring when call comes in, goes to phonemail. Calls dropped consistantly. Have to walk around outside to try and get three bars. I am cancelling service with AT&T, frustrated with service for 2 years. Service is horrible.

AT&T has very bad coverage in my neighborhood. I know its the service (both GSM and TDMA) and not the phones because I have used over 6 diffrent phones and I always have bad reception. Even outdoors when my phones show all bars, the calls still drop sometimes. This is problably because the north side of Montebello has alot of hills. The south side is flat, so there's not much of a problem there. When I connect my phones to Cingular towers, its about the same, sometimes better, sometimes worse. I talked to someone I know that works in a tech-support department and he says that my area is far from any towers, and thats why I get the bad service. Maybe GSM in my area will improve in the future, I hope soon.

Usually get 60-100% signal with AT&T GSM from San Gabriel Valley through Downtown LA to Hollywood. Maybe AT&T has improved their GSM coverage area. Had Sprint PCS previously, and it was horrible. Couldn't make calls from home and a weak signal in most places.

I drive and work all over Southern California. Los Angeles, mainly San Gabriel Valley, West L.A and South Orange County(Irvine and Newport). Verizon Wireless has been rock solid, getting service in the most unlikely places: 3 floors down in an underground parking structure in Alhambra and Van Nuys, all the way up in the desert on offroad trip around CA / NV border and up in a cabin Lake Arrowhead. All the while my friends and co workers on different services have not been able to get any service. A colleague/ and friendly competitor of mine has been with ATT WS and Cingular and after 4 years of GSM service he will switch to Verizon, stating to me that after all those years he might have saved more money on plans with those other companies but got only a 1/3 of the service quality. Now I also have a Treo 600 with SprintPCS, and I have dropped more calls with Sprint PCS in 3 months than after 3 years of service with Verizon and I am not kidding. Sprint still comes away marginally better than those other services (mainly superfast data speeds compared to GSM / GPRS), but I am sure it suffers from some major gaps in coverage like those other carriers. Verizon far and away is the best and the only service I will use.Sure, Verizon may not be on the bleeding edge of technology or design for the handsets, but as a phone service it cannot be beat for reliabilty and peace of mind.
