Reception is always iffy at my mother's house. We got a "3g Micro Cell" at her house (mini personal cell tower). It plugs into the DSL line. But it doesn't go through the computer. A vast improvement! My iPhone is getting NO SERVICE for the 3rd day now. Unfortunately, AT&T will not allow my phone (which is and AT&T GoPhone) to access the Micro Cell.

We are two miles northeast of Nevada City. I get 1-2 bars with the iPhone 3G on AT&T. Data speeds are fine, but Voice calls are unreliable.

I live in Cascade Shores well above the store. Technically, this is outside of the Sprint service area. They did provide me with an Airave and it works beautifully as a home based repeater for my cell phone. I do get cell reception but it's spotty at best here. There is a dead spot up on the Cross Rd. just past BQH where the school bust stop is but it's a very small spot. The signal improves the closer you get to Red Dog Rd. I also have a 3G iPad and draw off the AT&T tower. The signal with that is also flaky... often drops to EDGE from 3G.

I had no coverage during the November storm, spotty since then, and no coverage for the past month. AT&T says the towers are damaged and keep giving me dates when they will be fixed but never are. What gives with these people? How much are we going to take?

Had the same experience as another poster here: used to have 2-3 bars, and suddenly it's 1 bar, and I have to stand outside for that. Verizon's explanation: you're 9 miles from a tower; there must be trees in the way. Of course, nothing physical has changed here... .A Verizon employee finally admitted that increasing traffic diminishes access AND speed.

A T and T good in many areas, but not this one, where I live. For clear calls I have to use a land line or internet. My interaction with the company itself is exceptionally good when I run into a problem. However, there is simply not coverage at my home location. More towers, please. Other locations are good!

At home my service is excellent! Around Grass Valley..certain areas are "dead"... .rough and ready hwy... is poor... .other than that ATT wireless has been pretty good.. which is great since they promised to get real High speed service to my area 14 years ago... and without my epensive one user at a time data plan I'd have to use Highest Net... which is both expensive and bad.

Coverage is spotty at best. My phone worked better 3 years ago. Don't really know if the service has changed, or if it's the phone. I'm going to switch to AT&T.

Much improved compared to when we moved here. Verizon used to be the carrier of choice in this area but not so much any more.

Variable signal. Sometimes it works fine with 1-2 bars. Often can receive a signal but the signal is lost during the call. Outside is slightly better than inside. Very inconsistent signal.

Surprisingly my cell reception has improved in the last year. I do upgrade my phones firmware every so often which seems to help. For the most part I get 3-5 bars all over, with a few dead zones. My phone is awful however, didn't like it almost immediately after getting it. My husband has had several of the Motorola flip phones and been happy, but he doesn't like this one either. Looking at moving up to a Smart phone with PDA but looking possibly to ATT because of price.

Tough area for reception. Use a tri-mode Motorola. Worthless. Analog signal appears strong but unable to receive or send.
