I had AT&T in 1998-99 and it was the best available at the time (Verizon did not exist). When I was working for GTE when Bell Atlantic purchased them and Verizon was created out of the merger. As a result, I instantly became a user of Verizon Wireless services once they started purchasing wireless carriers. I get very good reception most places I go (I'm in sales and travel throughout the L.A. basin, even when I travel through e hills and along the coast. Of course no carrier covers everywhere and all are far from perfect, but Verison is pretty solid. If Verizon had the iPhone I would be ecstatic, but until then I'm sticking with solid cell coverage and an adequate phone. BTW, some phones get better reception than others, it's not all the carrier.

My reception at home has always been bad - first with Sprint (static on line) and now with Verizon (drops calls). Some rooms in the house don't work. Outside is better. Verizon is better than Sprint here. For both carriers, there's a spot on Lawrence just before Ventu Park Rd that it drops calls every time.

Coverage was good a few years ago but now poor. Disconnets coming up Lynn towards Windy and poor in parts of Deer Ridge. Verizon keeps saying to try a new phone but our 2 LG phones show the same results. Switched from ATT many years ago because of similar bad service in the area.

Switched from Cingular (actually old AT&T Nokia 3650) to Verizon because I heard that you could get decent reception in the area... .Wrong! I went from a poor to mediocre Cingular signal to no singal at all in my house. The Verizon phone has to be taken outside the house to get any signal at all. Geez... ..Can't SOMEBODY get a stinkin tower around here to allow the DV Ranch area to make cell calls. As much as I hate to admit it, I should have tested first before cutting over my numbers. Dumb move...
