I have the BB and an LG Slide. Just moved to N.B. from south O.C. where I had minimal problems previously. Zero signal indoors, almost as bad outside until I get onto 17th street. Everyone thinks I've left the country - they can't get ahold of me and I can't get ahold of them. Thanks ATT :(
Reception is reasonable sometimes and acceptable outdoors, but oftentimes indoors it is very minimal. Calls are typically not dropped, but I am often told that I'm not coming in clearly.
Verizon is absolutely great in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, as it is almost everywhere else. I really want an iPhone but everyone I've talked to around here says, "The phones great, but the service is not", so I guess I'm stuck with my 3-year-old RAZR on Verizon for now.
After AT&T bought Cingular forget it. They told me they are not allowed to put in anymore towers because of some restrictions in newport beach. BULL AT&T less bars less places. I could not be more disappointed with their service.
No reception at home, which is near Fashion Island, or at work which is near Hoag Hospital. Verizon worked great, but had to switch to ATT and am now locked into a 2 year contract. Avoid ATT in this area.
In last 10 days reception has gone from poor to nothing. Any made or received calls are dropped. Verizon says service scheduled to improve mid 2009 - thank you - that is 2 years.
Was very happy with Verizon until I moved to this location. Almost impossible to make calls in the house. Switched to ATT and reception is much better although not as good as the Verizon service was just 2 miles away.
