Calls drop no reception. No WiFi is the main concern. Switches from connection to connection trying to get reception. Verizon is the worst and always has been. Hidden fees, bad customer service, and no reception on any device save for intermittent periods of grace. Was this review helpful to you?
My reception with AT and T was very poor anywhere in the area, and especially within the confines of my house. Hilly terrain, poor line of sight, etc. sort of makes it understandable. I contacted AT and T and explained the problem and said I would be terminating my contract. They offered a microcell device, for a cost and I rebutted that I had no intention of paying more for a service they needed to provide. After continuing up the chain of command and repeating my intention to quit the relationship they provided me with the device at no cost. Further, I passed this experience onto 2 other neighbors who have the same reception issue and they also received a micro cell free of charge. Now reception within my home is max bars. Outside continues to be another story. I don't think there is a resolution this by any other carrier anyway. Was this review helpful to you?
I mostly agree with the reviewer that posted on 5 / 01 / 06 who said there is about no reception out here on the west end of Ignacio Boulevard. However, with my current phone I can sometimes at least get poor reception where the call will not immediately drop within a few seconds. I'm lucky if I pull one bar though. AT&T apparently put up a tower over 8 years ago to provide excellent, reliable service to people around the west end of Ignacio Blvd.and the College of Marin Students at the Novato campus. Verizon on the other hand has apparently never had any interest in providing reliable cell phone service for people in this area or the College of Marin students who attend the Novato campus. If money was not an issue and I was not getting my Verizon service for cheap on my parent's family plan, I would switch to AT&T.Was this review helpful to you?
Can only call (sometimes) from upstairs room in specific spots wher I get 1 bar. Better for texting, but several dead zones and texts frequently dont go out. If I really need my cellphone to work I drive and park after intersection with Sutro to make calls. Otherwise forced to use my land line. BTW when I called ATT to try and get out of my contract they tried to have someone call to test coverage by having me walk around with the phone. First, I didnt get the call, then it dropped it repeatedly after seconds. They called me on my land line to let me know that despite this I couldnt get oit of my contract because my coverage was just fine according to their map, and did I know most of my neighborswith ATT had booster towers? I should really consider that (about $300)Was this review helpful to you?

I moved to Hamilton Field in January 2004 and had AT&T, I got zero reception anywhere in Hamilton Field so I had to switch carriers since I don't have a land line at home phone. I immediately switched to Verizon and had superb coverage and customer service. I do think their rates are excessive but they were the only carrier that had reception at my house. Back in April that all changed. I can only make and receive calls in my upstairs bedroom, no where else. If I am not in my bedroom, my phone won't even ring. But I can walk over to the hangers, which I can see from my home and it service is great. I work from home and am self employed so I have no choice but to look for a new carrier. This sucks as I just bought the iPhone 5 at the end of last year and my son the Droid DNA by HTC smartphone in March. Verizon makes a change and I suffer financially. After about 5 calls to customer support over a 4 month span only resulted in confirming that service is marginal and my only option is to buy a very expensive network extender. Even though the extender they sell is from Samsung, this sounds shady and I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung gives Verizon a financial kickback. As a result Verizon customers are forced to either buy this expensive device or change carriers and thus are forced to buy all new equipment, which is even more costly. Verizon should be ashamed and should be legal liable for what they are doing to their customers. It feels almost like a monopoly, which isn't legal. This is wrong every which way there is and on every level. Was this review helpful to you?
1 bar barely 2 then it drops, either "searching" or E mode. $110 / mo and not able to use from my home. Just not right. 1 AT&T rep says they are improving cell towers nearby, another says no, nothing planned. Wants to chg $200 for microcell. Was this review helpful to you?
I get horrible coverage. I sometimes get an entire phone conversation in before the call drops, but usually I'm telling my sales people that I will call them from my office phone. Was this review helpful to you?
