I have had AT&T cell service since 2003 and coverage at my home has always been poor to none. I can NEVER trust that I will get or stay on a call for more than a few seconds and I must move to a window facing north to even have a chance at receiving a call. AT&T recently told me that they were going to turn up a new cell tower on Redwood road on August 25th. So far no improvement in coverage.

LOL! I get the 'no net coverage' and the beautiful phone symbol with a red line through it. Voice mails are received seconds after realizing I have a missed called that went straight to voice mail. My sisters states that they try calling me and it go straight to voice mail. Or something I get magical voice mails that don't have a missed call log. My phone isn't dead, I just have no service. I was told I have a strong area signal when I complained about the issue. Yeah so strong, that when I stick my phone out the window in my bedroom I get no service. I get bounced back text messages. Frustrating because I had to take my number off my resume while I'm job hunting and must use a landline. AT&T will not change because they haven't got any complaints of missed calls in the area. My contract is almost up, I have no problem walking away, I've had them since 2005. I've canceled both my former landline and internet service with them because of their lack of wireless service. They pretty much told me that their signal is essentially comparable to a radio signal and I'm not guaranteed 100% coverage. But can I at least get 50% coverage from my strong area signal?

I used to have Verizon -- coverage was fine everywhere except in my home, which is also where I work, so basically 90% of the time I had no coverage. I complained many times but they were not able to do anything. I switched to AT&T and my problems are gone. Reception is good where I live and work (most important), but also good elsewhere. I've used my phone abroad also with no problems. My only issue now is that I want a new Droid 2 and AT&T doesn't carry them -- I'm hesitant to switch back to Verizon because it was soooo bad, so I think I might have to stick with a Blackberry. I hate it that carriers don't all carry the same phones.

Horrible. I even bought the micro cell tower. Still no good. AT&T told me my upload speeds on my ISP was too slow... Seriously? I have to upgrade from a $55 ISP plan to $100 / month or more? My phone was stolen last night and it seems that I'm going to have to give Verizon a try...

Recently upgraded two phones and re-signed two year contract. We get next to no bars throughout apt., occasionally may get one bar on a "good" day. Calls regularly dropped. It is VERY aggravating and disappointing. We mistakenly thought we would have better service with At&t service and the upgrade of phones.

I have no service in my apt, which is on the top of hill off Piedmont Ave. Additionally, down the street I have no service in office building near hospitals. Dropped calls almost daily, or just missed all together. Data always works well though, even when have spotty coverage.

Luckily, I have a landline. It's useless to use my cell in my house. I actually live closer to Broadway. Reception is better if I go to the Broadway end of the house and non-existente at the Harrison end of the house. I have to use the phone outside on the top floor in the most westerly part of the building to have any type of serious conversation.

I've had AT&T for 6+ years, never had a dropped call but sometimes poor reception inside. They added or upgraded a tower near here in the last year. Now I get 4 bars in the house, and usually 4-5 walking around the neighborhood.

Service has gone downhill. I wander through my house, phone in hand, searching for a signal. Once upon a time I could call from my car in the underground garage. Then I had to move to just outside the garage. Next it was onto the street in front of the garage. Now it's down the street sometimes, so I drive slowly, searching for a signal.

It's always a surprise when we get a cell call. Most of the time it just doesn't work. If we walk around the house, and often outside, we can pick up reception for a while, before it gets dropped. Would drop the landline if we could; can't.

Well I was looking up ways to check for coverage because I'm looking to cancel my AT&T phone service. I'm very sad to have to do so; I have an iPhone and love it! But I can't use it at home as my calls drop daily.

Just moved here with my iphone 3G (almost at the bottom of El Centro, north of Park), and my iphone is completely worthless. Most of the time I get 1 to 2 bars, but the phone drops every other call, and the rest just sound terrible. It doesn't matter if I have 3G turned on or off.

On major city street cross road between Hwy. 880 and 580 and Alameda Country General Hospital. very poor signal... hope there is never a major emergency. Even what is considered the flatlands of Oakland, there are still Hills and Valleyies that block cell service.

3 blocks from an a AT&T store, where I get all bars, I get 2-3 at the most and only 1 bar for my modem card. Where is the tower in this area? Why is reception so bad?

Fortunately I have 2 friends with i-Phones and though I love the phone itself, neither of them can get any reception where I live and I live in a pretty main hub. All other services work fine here, but AT&T's coverage in the Bay overall just plain sucks :( Too bad, I'd sign up and buy an i-Phone out of the gate if it actually worked here!
