On major city street cross road between Hwy. 880 and 580 and Alameda Country General Hospital. very poor signal... hope there is never a major emergency. Even what is considered the flatlands of Oakland, there are still Hills and Valleyies that block cell service.
The reception for my 1st generation Iphone used to be great. Now after 8 months of complaining to ATT, 4 out of 5 calls in my neighborhood get dropped regardless of how many bars I have.
3 blocks from an a AT&T store, where I get all bars, I get 2-3 at the most and only 1 bar for my modem card. Where is the tower in this area? Why is reception so bad?
Fortunately I have 2 friends with i-Phones and though I love the phone itself, neither of them can get any reception where I live and I live in a pretty main hub. All other services work fine here, but AT&T's coverage in the Bay overall just plain sucks :( Too bad, I'd sign up and buy an i-Phone out of the gate if it actually worked here!
Miserable part of the city. Not only do we get zero to one bar at our house, which is right near here, nobody visiting gets any better service, no matter what provider they have. So much for ditching our land line.
This phone is awful as well as the recption if you buy this phone use it for a paper weight. Recption is awful indoors and just ok outside. I do not recommend LG phones period just because of this one product. Inferior products from an inferior maker. ATT should be called A Terrible Telecom - those bars should be for those crooks who claim they work. I'm not joking, I am really not satisfied with these guys.
