Extremely poor reception from ATT and abysmal, incompetent customer service. Their solution is to install wifi and buy a box called a Microcell. Unfortunately, this device only has a 35 foot radius and does not work with iPhones.

Usually one bar while inside, two bars when outside. Inside or outside, have always been able to make outgoing calls, BUT incoming calls are hit / miss. 80% of the time, my phone does not ring, rather, the caller is directed to my voice mail. Then, a few minutes later, my phone alerts me that I have voice mail. Very frustrating. I will be switching carriers ASAP.

Verizon launched it's LTE service in the Palm Springs area in October, 2012. ATT is as slow as molasses in getting anything upgraded on the west coast especially southern California. I sat with ATT after nearly 20 years as they have individual plans which suit me and my mobile service needs; Verizon doesn't have them anymore and it's about $30.00 cheaper with ATT.

I've had T Mobile for years. Service was always poor, but recently it has become much worse. I regularly find my signal dies for seconds at a time (no signal bars, just a red x). I have a smartphone and try to use the gps app (even thought that's now illegal in California). It never works. 'data connection lost' within 30 seconds of starting the app. I'm looking for a new provider today!

4G on Verizon. Works very well. I'm tethering now. Here is my speed test: 19.7 down, 4.8 up.

wow there's hardly any 4G coverage in the PS area! Sprint really needs to install additional towers if they want to keep up with the competition! at least Verizon has some 4G coverage. the only time when I have the Sprint coverage is when i'm near the Sprint store, haha. but I ain't gonna hang out by the store all day long just so I can surf the web, tsk tsk... !

The reception in the area of PSP where I live is poor. Its impossible to make or receive calls. When I get in my car and drive a block from my house my phone starts chiming with all of the calls and text messages I missed while at home. Unless AT&T improves service I have no problems becoming a "loyal" Verizon Customer.

Terrible reception usually 0 to 2 bars with intermittent 3 bars. Frequent dropped calls. I've had much better reception in third world countries!

I've lived here for 3 years, and have consistently had an extremely poor signal. Usually, not enough to make or receive calls. Incoming / outgoing texts work, but not always. Dr.one / two miles in any direction and the service is OK, but the Victoria Park neighborhood is a definite dead zone. AT&T rep in Palm Springs acknowledged same, and said a new tower was coming in a year or two (that was two years ago).

I get terrific Verizon coverage, and for the first time as of today, September 30, 2012, they have just turned on the LTE 4G service. Not sure if this is a 'test' or if they actually have service up and running. We were told this was coming. I hope it is here to stay. Speeds are incredible.

The worst Verizon service I've ever experienced. Almost makes me want to move elsewhere. Moved here 3 months ago and since then, dropped calls on my iPhone 4S daily. I also have iPad with Verizon 4G and am thinking of dropping my service, seriously considering of getting rid of Verizon for the first time in almost 12 years, it's that bad. I live in MountainGate and when I drive south to Vista Chino / Hwy 111, a perfect signal. It's 3G however. Come on Verizon, get with it before you lose a good customer.

Most of the time, I have no bars--texts sit in the outbox for more than a day sometimes, and for days am not able to make or receive calls. In other areas of Palm Springs or the desert, I have much better reception but because I can't use the phone where I live, I end up using very little and still paying for service. Tried to solve problem with AT&T but no solution has worked. Luckily I'm no longer in a contract so I'll be looking for an alternative provider...
