East Palmdale (55E and R8) get good recption and connection with Nokia 1100, 3 phones over 10 years. Dont know carrier, I use Trakfone. But bought 3 Moterolas over 3 weeks and all 3 wont get signal here. 2 of them wont get signal anywhere in AV. Trakfone stoped selling Nokias unfortunatly. LG's are avalible but 4 times the price. I may re-activate my old Nokia 1100, to hell with Mot V170 flip, hard to use, does not work and poor visibility. Wish I knew what carrier was. Had to pick a carrier to submit this so I heard it might be Verison so that gets the vote. from the posts, it looks like there is no really good carriers in AV anyway.

When first moving to Palmdale about 4 years ago I had T-Mobile (which worked fine in the san fernando valley)... but terrible reception in Palmdale. I switched to Verizon and reception has been really good in the A.V. for several years now. I was tempted by the iPhone and tried it (at&t) for a few months but reception was terrible nearly everywhere I went (A.V., SCV, SFV)... so I went back to Verizon after paying several disconnect and reconnect fees of course.

I am soooo over Verizon. I get no reception at home or anywhere near my home, including the streets around or at the Albertsons on 10th west. My poor reception extends to Amber Ridge, Highland Highschool. I'm sure it's horrible in other places but this is where I personaly frequent. I drop randomly just about everywhere I go and my reception is far from reliable. I did get a new phone with little improvement. The reception has actually seemed to get worse over the last year. I've had Verizon for years so have been reluctant to leave until I started getting increasingly worse reception. I contacted Verizon who assured me that I am only dropping about 4% of my calls which (get this) is ONLY about 65 calls a month. They say this is average. Really? Then what does lower then average look like because I'm a little disappointed. I mean, I know it's a cell phone and shouldnt be 100% reliable, but 2-3 dropped calls a day?! And believe me, it's a lot more calls then that. Not to mention all the calls that I can't even make because I wont connect or all the incoming calls that never even ring through because I dont have bars? How about the amount of calls I have to make just to complete 1 phone call because I keep getting dropped. Customer service had a tech look into it. I never got a call back. Finally I got someone on the phone after I followed up and they admitted that the tech determined cell phone reception in my area is poor and that they have plans to upgrade the towers in my area but have no date for it at present. Also, the do not gauratee reception indoors which I guess means they will only take responsibilty for dropped calls made on your front lawn. If you live around west Palmdale GO WITH ANOTHER PROVIDER! You will find yourself frustrated!

Inside the near-by high school, the average is 1 to 2 bars. However, Service is not lost. (That is INSIDE the near by high school) Outside the school there is a average of 3 to 4 bars
