We feel based on comments from AT&T vs Verizon customers to move to Verizon. Why pay almost twice the monthly amount for the same poor service?

Service is really bad, in fact their is no service.

ATT reception is horrible everywhere in Pasadena. I get drop calls everyday and it takes me several time whenever I dial a number. I am switching as soon as my contract is over. Customer service is bad as well...

2 blocks from a major hospital, and it is terrible. I must stand in the doorway of this 2nd floor condo, or there is no signal. ZERO! Time to get off AT&T. The early termination is better than 2 years more of of $$ for nothing.

Really bad or No reception. Very dissatisfied with ATT coverage in this location.

First, I can't really complain about the poor reception in my house. My place is really old, so it's lath and plaster with 'chicken-wire'- meaning it's a Faraday cage, little to no signal gets through those walls and that'll be true for most cell companies. Oh well. But AT&T really stinks. They're customer service is junk. I like the iPhone in general, but it isn't nearly as good as some of the Android phones my friends have, especially Google Maps navigation. And I am really tired of seeing 'No service' or dropping calls! I travel a lot. Back when I had T-Mobile, I could reliably work in Europe and it didn't cost me much more than at home. With AT&T, I don't dare use it internationally without setting a lot of money aside! But even closer to home, I use my phone for travel: navigation, Pandora, messaging. Since I do that so much more now, I'm wondering if going back to T-Mobile would be such a good idea. My experience up to a couple years ago was that they were great in the urban environment, but rarely worked out in the sticks (picture the area between baker, CA and Pahrump, NV). I have a couple more (tiresome) months with AT&T. I'll be using that time to decide between T-Mobile and Verizon, maybe other options. Goodbye AT&T! And goodbye iPhone!

Earlier this year, AT&T officials said a new tower should come on line in December that would improve the signal in this area. Does anyone have any information on the status of the tower? There is no phone service in this area.

We had quite OK coverage until a few weeks ago. Now the signal is consistently bad or missing all together. Did a tower fail or something?

I'm lucky to get one bar. Usually my phone says "searching." Love the iPhone device but it sure would be nice if the PHONE part worked. Based on reviews here I know I will switch to T-Mobile or verizon. I'll keep the iPhone to be my email getter and ipod (on my wan at home). Guess I'm moving to Droid for my next device.

I live and work in a three story building with many windows. I have so much problem with my reception that I'm finally switching to Verizon. I called and called AT&T CS and each time there is a different story! Many tell me there is a new cell site coming up in your area and so on, but been in the same location for over 3 years and nothing has changed my wife has a Verizon bb and it even work in our subterranean concrete garage.

Reception very choppy here on an iPhone. Sometimes bars look ok, and then 2 seconds later I get the "No service" message. Contract is up with AT&T and will probably wind up switching back to Verizon despite their usually awful customer service and terrible contracts.

Almost never able to finish a phone call. Bad, very bad reception.

I have bars, but: * Calls drop all the time * Calls do not complete, I get the "dialing" indicator and then "Call Ended" * Calls are choppy. I can hear people ok, but generally they complain that I drop words and they ask me to repeat myself. I am in Vegas for the weekend with my phone and it works GREAT. So clearly it is the Pasadena coverage area that SUCKS!

I've had AT&T service for over 10 years and have never experienced any dropped calls. I purchased the iphone after my third Blackberry died right after the warrenty expired. I've had zero problems thus far.

AT&T has promised the service would get better in the area for about 5 years, but it hasn't. I've been told it was my phone, the SIM, and many other reasons as to why I get horrible service in the upper Hastings area. The real problem is that AT&T's coverage in the area is horrible. Interestingly, I recently wanted to try a 3G phone to see if it was any better. The salesperson at the store checked their coverage map based on my exact address and told me my address had great coverage. I guess great coverage means you have to be within a 12" area standing on one foot with 3 fingers stuck out in the air to get just the right reception. Even then, the calls are spotty and drop frequently. I'm switching to Verizon!

Signal fluctuates from full signal to no service. Calls are ussually fuzzy and cut out. Unusuable about 1 / 4 of the time

I am lucky to drive past this intersection and not have my phone call dropped. Once I am about a 1 / 4 mile away in any direction I get 5 bars again.

Almost NEVER any good reception in my house... if there is even any reception in the first place! Terrible terrible terrible...

Occasionally one bar but can not make or receive calls from home. At times it actually says no service! AT&T has offered to let me out of my contract but they wouldn't buy my iphone from me nor improve service.

very poor reception inside my apartment and some places outside within the open corridoor. i either get one or no bars. calls frequently get dropped and mostly go directly to voicemail.

In the last month, I have had numerous dropped calls, even some when I have miraculously had a full bar signal. It has become a regular event. We used to have reliable service.

Calls are dropped left and right, and then when I have two bars, and try to make a call I get failed error messages. Every one I talk to complains about not being able to hear me. It is not only here but almost in all of Pasadena, I have the same issues. Looking for a carrier that has good signal here in Pasadena, Any suggestions??? I also had Sprint last year and that was pretty lousy as well.

I've had no dropped calls and I always have 4-5 bars.

Reception is spotty, even in areas that appear to have coverage. Often, even while stationary, the signal will spike and then disappear completely. Calls longer than 10 minutes are usually dropped at least once. Phone often displays "error in connection" when attempting to make a call. This has been tested with several other phoen models as well, with the same results.

No signal on TDMA. Not indoors, not outdoors. They're claiming that the TDMA towers are being replaced by GSM. I guess it's just too bad for us TDMA customer(s)... Time to switch to another carrier!

continuesly dropped calls, slow to acknowledge signal, voice message slow to down load to phone... hours later after msg was left. Not pleased with Cingular service and have come to resent the mandatory 2 year commitment for less than acceptable service. Staff at store fronts sound like they will make any commitment to customer to get them to sign up for service. I am not a satisfied customer.

I have the old free Nokia phone. My wife and I have identical model. Reception is bad at our home, and at the 210 Freeway entrance at Altadena Dr. Bad reception in La Canada and Orange Grove in Pasadena.

Barely usable indoors - garbled sounds and/or dropped calls. Hope this is the phone ... am going to try another.
