I travel in my RV for 6 months out of the year and use my cell phone for tethering to Laptop. When I can't use my phone, I can't get the internet. I can't get coverage in a number of California cities, Oregon and Washington. Very frustrating. My 2 year contract ends in December, 2011 and I am changing to Verizon. Will also get the 4G phone (Thunderbolt). Hopefully, they will have resolved the battery issue with this phone. Recently T-Mobile decided to charge an additional $15 for tethering. I'm 2 / 3 into my contract and without notice cut my internet off. When I called they told me about the new charge. It seemed like a bad business practice and illegal to change the charges in the middle of a contract. What choice did I have? I had to pay it to get the internet. I live in Las Vegas, NV.

Verizon's coverage map shows that we're inside the coverage area, though near the edge. Although there's a cell tower less than 1 / 4 mile from my house, and I can see it from my front windows, it's not Verizon's, and I can't make or receive calls. If heading up Fiddletown Rd. out of Plymouth, you'd better finish your call before you top the first hill after the Shenandoah "Y," because you'll lose service.
