Sprint has had the good coverage in Sacramento compared to other providers. I was with Cingular until early 2003, and tried AT&T GSM in early 2003 also. Neither had anywhere close to the reception coverage that Sprint had in 2003, with the coverage being comparable to Verizon in this market. With Cingular, I couldn't make or recieve a call in my apartment or at work (Stockton and Y Street), making the phone and service less than useful. I recommend Sprint to my friends in Sacramento and in San Francisco. Of note, the phone does make a significant difference in reception, please read the reviews before buying.

Roughly 75% of my calls are dropped. No reception in my house. Whenever on the freeway throughout the state incoming calls aways go to voicemail and never ring on the phone.

Just got my first phone two weeks ago. Three to five bars all the time. Lost a few calls but I just keep hitting the buttons on the side by mistake... I'm learning to hold the TOP of the phone only, after I open it.

I love AT&T Wireless. I hate the customer service people they should all be fired and or shot then replaced with people that want to help not sit on their buts collectin 13.00 an hour to piss off AT&T customers. Other than that I understand that sometimes I will have dropped calls but I love EDGE for internet use and I love mMode.. It works very well being able to find my family when we are unable to get ahold of each other. I can locate my mom, my wife, my brothers, sisters, and they can locate me using Find Friends. My friends can locate me, and I can locate them. My wife was lost once and she didn't know where she was since we moved to Sac from Seattle so I hung up and located her to find out she really wasn't in the sacramento area but was in Davis near e 8th street so I was able to guide her back here.. I sure hope Mmode does not go away or at least they migrate some of the features like Find Friends and Find Things Nearby.. I'm alwasy on the lookout for Starbucks and Find Things Nearby tells me where they are and how to get to them..

Great coverage. I had a problem with my old Motorola, but since I got my new Nokia, I've had no problems with my service at all!

I have never had a problem with reception, but I don't get all of my voicemails and text msgs... more than half the text msg I send are not received or delayed. When I have AT&T, that was the worse service I have ever had. Most of the time I did not get reception.

I have full bar where I live and always get good reception. But I do remembe a call being dropped. Maybe it was beacuse of the other cell phone. Cingular does not have this address under my billing plan. I wish I could get reception when I am inside Jackson Casino. It's usually one bar or no service there.

My BlackBerry has better coverage than any other Nextel I have owned. I have been with AT&T (TDMA and GSM) and T-Mobile in the past and find the BlackBerry to out perform in most areas. Although AT&T TDMA side kicked butt! Too bad it is gone.

There is something fishing going on with Cingular Wireless. I always get dropped calls even though my phone shows five bars out of five bars. I'll be talking then all of a sudden, beep beep. Call is gone. This is annoying, I makes me wonder what the point of having a cell phone is if it always gets dropped calls. I use my phone for business purposes and people think I'm hanging up on them. Cingular has exchanged the phone twice... and I'm still having the same problems. Go with Sprint instead.

My phone is top rated. Unfortunately the service thru T-Mobile isn't anywhere near the quality of the phone. What good is the service if you lose calls all the time? My phone shows that I have 3 bars (when outside of the house) but as soon as I make a call I go down to 1 bar and then it drops the call. Forget about making calls from inside the house.

Maybe two bars shown but drops calls all the time. T-Mobile has no answer except that they are sorry that "there is no change in service offered for that area in the near future." T-Mobile seems to be the worst GSM carrier in this area... maybe California. Supposedly they can use Cingular and AT&T towers but I haven't seen any improvement.

Great coverage (3-4 bars) if I'm standing in my driveway or out in the street. Coverage gets worse as I get closer to my house and sometimes no coverage indoors. Cingular has cool plans but pisses me off when I can't use my phone in my own room. Considering switching to either T-Mobile or Verizon but doing more research first.

Turn off your phone when you drive southbound on Waterman Rd. going into Elk Grove from Calvine Rd. You'll lose all reception. Wait until you are well in Elk Grove and then maybe, just maybe you'll have some kind of reception to get a call. Verizon says that it is not their fault because most of the Elk Grove area is over saturated with AT&T towers. I have friends with AT&T service. They don't do any better than I do. "Can you hear me now?" This whole area is a Bermuda Triangle. Nobody does very well here yet there is a cell tower off of Sheldon at Hwy 99.

Lousy phone service. I don't know whether it is the area that is not well represented or what. AT&T area coverage map indicates that this is in a good reception area. This isn't the case. I have 1 to 2 bars most of the time. To use the phone I have to drive where I know is service where I won't drop calls. That really sucks. I guess what AT&T expects you to do is find 4 or 5 areas near to your home and drive, walk, skate, or jog to them so you can make a phone call. Funny how Customer Service always says, "Oh, it has to be the phone." Service is not much better than when I used to use a "brick" phone.

This is T-Mobile Service. Poor reception in the south area. Lots of dropped calls. Supposedly can switch over to other shared networks but have not seen this happen. Their customer service has been good, equipment seems good, rx and tx very poor. I'll switch to something else when my contract is up. Customer Service says no new towers are planned. The Elk Grove area is exploding and T-Mobile is missing an opportunity. Hmm, I wonder who is on the "ball" in the area for coverage.

My reception is poor at best. I must go outside to make a phone call and receive calls. I have tried, at T-Mobiles recommendation, to try doing a manual overide on the network (manual / automatic select) - didn't help; tried changing the frequency - 900 vs 1800 - didn't help. T-Mobile indicates that I am in a "fringe-area" and that no new towers are expected anytime soon. In asking T-Mobile if they have another phone which might perform better (I had to try something...) they only gave a list to me of available phones and told me I could do an upgrade (I was eligible....) but it would extend my year contract. What good it would do to upgrade to just another phone extending my contract a year and not providing better reception is beyond me.
