with Cingular i've never had a dropped call and have always been able to dial out all my calls. will sometimes have choppy convosations but it's usually from the other person's cellphone. Usually have 4 bars of service, even in NoCal and Arizona. Park Village its 0-1, but even when it's at 0 I can still make and recieve callsarea--unlike many of my friends who have Verizon. PV, PQ, desert highway on the I-8 going East into AZ still no problems. in general american cellphones are knock off wanna be's of japanese makes which makes them almost worthless because the antanae in japanese makes aren't as strong specifically because japan isnt as big. Nokia seems to be the strongest phone available in america--I am hesitant to switch to a samsun or Motorola (which seem to have the most dropped calls.)

Heading North on SR163, and taking off ramp to I-805 north, drop calls. Problem used to be with Cingular, now Cingular is solid, Verizon drops.

If coming fm Miramesa driving on SR Blvd, drop calls at Weatherhill. However, if call is originated in the area and then driving to Spring Canyon, no drop calls.

As a former SPCS employee I can state FOR A FACT that CDMA is the worse technology today! The more users you sign in the less individual coverage each user gets. It's like sharing a huge pie, the more people the smaller your share. I currently live in the Rancho Penasquitos area 2 blocks away from the 15 and have no coverage nor in my office area in Kearny Mesa. Sorrento Valley, Mira Mesa, and Carmel Mountain all have very poor coverage with multiple interruptions. In fact today (01 / 09 / 06) the entire Sprint network in the Metro SD area is down.

If I walk outside... between buildings and face north I can make a call (sometimes). Have had a few occaisions where I can hold a call in the house, but not many. Considering I'm in a major metro area I think it's pretty dismal reception is this poor (I know there's a mountain behind my house, but why can't they put a tower on the mountain and solve the problem for everyone?).

recently have been 'switched' every morning to Telemex -- seems that either TMobile has screwed up local towers in Point Loma, or Telemex is sending out some powerful new signals from 28 miles to the south in TJ!

Reception goes from average to nonexistent on a regular basis. Many dropped calls. Verizon not universally bad, just bad in Miramar / Mira Mesa area.

what in the heck is going on? I just bought a new phone from the Sprint store on Fenton way. This phone drops calls like I cannot believe. This costs me time and money, I use my phone in my career. This is not acceptable. However, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, I reupped for 2 years. If anyone has a solution please let me know. thank you in advance. Sprint step up cmw

I lose reception often! And the image on my phone comes up as a mirror image, or not at all sometimes. We can't wait to go to a carrier other than Cingular. It has not been good, nor has it been a very good deal financially.

I've had Nextel for almost 4 years and I've seen their signal get worse and worse in that time. The last year has been very frustrating. I have three different phones (I830, I90c, I530) and they all drop call's 25% of the calls no matter where I am in San Diego. I'M DONE! Tomorrow I switch to Verizon.

T-Mobile is the worst ever! Their system appears to be getting worse day-by-day. I have never experienced such poor service. Any other service (AT&T, Cinguler, Verizon) is better than T-Mobile. Don't get sucked into their low-rate scheme!

I would never recommend Cingular. Not only do you frequently experience dropped calls and dead air space in my neighborhood but also anywhere in the Mission Valley area between 5 and 15 I continually experience the same thing. They offer no other support other than to tell you to switch out your SIM card or warranty your phone, neither of which works... Oh yes, they recommend you find someone to buy out your contract. Anyone willing???

The coolest phone ever. Has button on side to open the phone. I was so bummed out that I had to return this phone. I could not make calls from home. Downtown reception is excelent, but no reception in Encanto which is home. Had to switch to Verizon. Good luck to me.

Verizon was much better. No cell company works well in this area but T-moblie is the worst. Customer service is very nice, always gives me free minutes for dropped calls. I can't use the minutes as I get such poor reception!

Verizon sucks. Verizon just replaced my old t720 with a 730 since the old one was blacking out, but the new phone doesn't do any better. 95% of calls dropped. almost no reception. Verizon customer service is the worst. I don't know where the heck Verizon found these people because they are the most unhelpful, rude, and unintelligent bunch. So, if you have a problem, don't ask them. Chances are they don't know how to fix it and / or don't want to help you.

I am not sure the problem- either T-Mobile reception or really cheap phone. My wife and I experience dropped calls,no signal or weak reception constantly. Just when I think I have all 45 "drop spots" identified in my neighborhood- T-Mobile surprises me with yet another one at least once a week. T-mobil has always been good to me as a customer, but..the number of dropped calls is increasing exponentially each week!

Can make some calls. Need to get outside the house or next to window for bars. Sometimes no complains, sometimes I want to throw my phone against the wall.
