Used T-Mobile for 5 years. Loved them. Recently moved from East Village to Pacific Highway. Zero reception in our building ("No service") with my Treo, and very rarely will I get a single bar outside for about the 1 / 2 mile stretch between Broadway and Laurel. Wife occasionally gets a single bar out on the porch with her Samsung. Looks like we're going to have to switch carriers, which is unfortunate :-(

Little or no reception in the house-have to hang the phone out the bathroom or kitchen window. Usually signal fades out while speaking, and have to take the calls out front or back of the house. Problem continues several blocks away at brother's house on Palm Street. Better coverage towards the Zoo at the top of the mesas, but coverage is poor in the canyons.

I get decent service if I go up stairs in my home. We have called the phone company and they told us that they have to send a technician out to reprogram the towers. lol The worse is part is on a military base they say it is the military equipment but my to friends get full service there. So it isn't the phone it is the lack of decent coverage and poor customer care on the part of the provider. All they need to do is put a tower or a couple of towers below the canyon walls and the problem will then be corrected but they want to get greedy and not spend the money!

I live in Mission Valley, I am work in La Jolla, I go Downtown often, and visit family and friends in La Mesa, El Cajon, P.B., SDSU area, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, Torrey Highlands, Chula Vista, North Park, etc. and I don't have any issues. I was considering switching to AT&T just for the iPhone, but I notice than anytime I have a friend with bad service, they usually have AT&T. So I am staying put. Been with them since Airtouch, any drop zones, and there were very few, have been resolved, as far as I can tell. Yeah AT&T and T-Mobile have Sim Cards, but Verizon has Backup Assistant, which over the air, automatically backs up your contacts daily to their webserver, so no matter what, you always have it. Even if you lose your phone, which, if you had a Sim Card in it, you would also lose. Very happy with Verizon. 5 / 5

No reception in my own room! I always get dropped calls everywhere in my home and I have to use the house phone often. Plus... Verizon service is not it's cut out to be. I get dropped calls everywhere! Their new TM should be "Verizon, It's not the Network" "we're nowhere"!

The epitome of dropped calls, "can you hear me nows", and "I will call you back from my home phone". The only plus to the situation is I am not the one talking of my cell phone driving like a knucklehead, only because I can't! Wretched service in So. Cal! I kept the service when I moved down from Nor. Cal because it was ok up there. What a learning lesson! What worked in one situation doesn't always work in others. I have heard it was my phone from some people, others swear it is the service provider. I have a sony ericsson. Even testing can be a problem because of the delay in transfer due to a "no network" statement on my phone. Good thing I pay for unlimited texting! YUCK!

I've always had great reception from Sprint. I don't have any problems making or receiving calls from the office, my house, or even in elevators. Text messages occasionally don't send or get delayed, but I am getting messages almost constantly so I'll see problems more than most people would. The only time I regularly have problems is when I drive under one of the overpasses on 56 east close to I-15 (I forget which one). Drops every single time!
