Very good SPCS reception throughout North County San Diego, on I15, I5, entire length of Mira Mesa Blvd and Miramar Rd, entire length of Pomerado and La Jolla, and inside UCSD buildings and on campus (but not in Price Center). Fair reception in my house, works in some parts but not others.
ATT (GSM) signal is consistently 1-3 bars lower than CINGULAR's around town, and it's always bouncing around indoors (jumps from 2 to 3 to 1 to 3, and I'm standing still) which has lead to dropped calls and lost GPRS connections while indoors - Tested with a Nokia 3590 and a 3595. There isn't a diff between the phones (switching SIMs had same results network-wise). ATT's (GSM) network is just not up to par with CINGULAR's.
I could generally get reception if I was outside. I couldn't get any reception from my first floor apartment in Warren though. I had to go outside to make calls.
