Reception has been getting worse and worse over the last 3-4 months. I called last week and found out from an ATT rep on the phone that 3 cell sites near Mira Mesa Blvd.were "degraded" and that technicians had been dispatched but nothing had been fixed yet. But "not to worry" they were getting 4 new cell sites up in late December! Really BAD reception with MANY dropped calls and forget about texting! I cannot place calls from my office or my home now or most of the way inbetween. Verizon is SURE looking good!

my neighbor told me about this site. We get this or no reception in this area that has caused many problems even outside. Sometimes we have to drive up to hte Bank of America on University to make sure our calls are not dropped. This is only six or eight blocks away but you can imagine how burned up we get with two cellular phones that don't get any bars at home. We have been thinking about Uverse TV and Internet but are afraid we would have the same maddening problems. Any help would be sorely welcome. By the way we also have told At$t about the problems and they don't seem to care.

No reception or bars for my cell phone or my laptop air card in my residence and outside roaming around various blocks for signal. I am wasting money on air card for my laptop and money on my phone and can't wait til my contract is over with AT&T.

Lots of dropped calls. Sometimes phone doesn't even register a missed call. Voicemails get delayed by hours. Voicemail doesn't always pickup. Bad reception during calls. 3G service is a joke - I have to turn it off in order to get any phone service at all.

I have been with Verizon for almost two years now, and the only complaint I have is when I'm at home in Mira Mesa (along Kelowna Road), I get 0 to 1 bar of reception on my phone and it's horrible. Calls drop constantly. I'll receive calls and there's the cutting in and out of reception and then the call is lost. When I'm away from my home (on the road or just anywhere else in SD) it's fine. But the fact I can't make or receive calls when I'm at HOME is really making me think of switching to another carrier. My Verizon contract is up in Sept. 7, 2008 and I'm leaning towards AT&T and the iPhone. I'd love to read through all the pages for AT&T comments in the Mira Mesa area, but it's a bit time consuming. Any AT&T customers in the Mira Mesa area satisfied with their service? Any dead zones you experience in the area or similar difficulties?

Used T-Mobile for 5 years. Loved them. Recently moved from East Village to Pacific Highway. Zero reception in our building ("No service") with my Treo, and very rarely will I get a single bar outside for about the 1 / 2 mile stretch between Broadway and Laurel. Wife occasionally gets a single bar out on the porch with her Samsung. Looks like we're going to have to switch carriers, which is unfortunate :-(

Little or no reception in the house-have to hang the phone out the bathroom or kitchen window. Usually signal fades out while speaking, and have to take the calls out front or back of the house. Problem continues several blocks away at brother's house on Palm Street. Better coverage towards the Zoo at the top of the mesas, but coverage is poor in the canyons.

I get decent service if I go up stairs in my home. We have called the phone company and they told us that they have to send a technician out to reprogram the towers. lol The worse is part is on a military base they say it is the military equipment but my to friends get full service there. So it isn't the phone it is the lack of decent coverage and poor customer care on the part of the provider. All they need to do is put a tower or a couple of towers below the canyon walls and the problem will then be corrected but they want to get greedy and not spend the money!

I live in Mission Valley, I am work in La Jolla, I go Downtown often, and visit family and friends in La Mesa, El Cajon, P.B., SDSU area, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, Torrey Highlands, Chula Vista, North Park, etc. and I don't have any issues. I was considering switching to AT&T just for the iPhone, but I notice than anytime I have a friend with bad service, they usually have AT&T. So I am staying put. Been with them since Airtouch, any drop zones, and there were very few, have been resolved, as far as I can tell. Yeah AT&T and T-Mobile have Sim Cards, but Verizon has Backup Assistant, which over the air, automatically backs up your contacts daily to their webserver, so no matter what, you always have it. Even if you lose your phone, which, if you had a Sim Card in it, you would also lose. Very happy with Verizon. 5 / 5

No reception in my own room! I always get dropped calls everywhere in my home and I have to use the house phone often. Plus... Verizon service is not it's cut out to be. I get dropped calls everywhere! Their new TM should be "Verizon, It's not the Network" "we're nowhere"!

The epitome of dropped calls, "can you hear me nows", and "I will call you back from my home phone". The only plus to the situation is I am not the one talking of my cell phone driving like a knucklehead, only because I can't! Wretched service in So. Cal! I kept the service when I moved down from Nor. Cal because it was ok up there. What a learning lesson! What worked in one situation doesn't always work in others. I have heard it was my phone from some people, others swear it is the service provider. I have a sony ericsson. Even testing can be a problem because of the delay in transfer due to a "no network" statement on my phone. Good thing I pay for unlimited texting! YUCK!

I've always had great reception from Sprint. I don't have any problems making or receiving calls from the office, my house, or even in elevators. Text messages occasionally don't send or get delayed, but I am getting messages almost constantly so I'll see problems more than most people would. The only time I regularly have problems is when I drive under one of the overpasses on 56 east close to I-15 (I forget which one). Drops every single time!

Terrible reception at all times from home, a couple of blocks toward Cowles Mtn from here, and throughout the neighborhood. I think much cell reception is poor in this area because the towers are just over the crest of Cowles Mtn and obscured (from us) by the peak. Need a new tower on Navajo at Lake Murray Blvd! Impossible to carry on a phone conversation via the AT&T cell network from here--call quality is terrible and drops every minute or two. T-Mobile was *much* better--worked all the time from home. Unfortunately the iPhone got me, and only AT&T has the iPhone.
