I get 5-6 bars of Sprint service in my home and since there is always a strong 3g signal, it kind of makes up for the lack of 4g (WiMax) in San Diego.

I live at the north end of Westwood, Rancho Bernardo. We've never had a problem here. Great reception. No drops. My cell phone works better than the VOIP phone we have.

After struggling with dropped calls or no bars at all with AT&T, switched to T-Mobile where for two years have lost no calls. AT&T had the worst customer service saying only they would be adding towers - unsuccessful. Now I learn that AT&T is buying out T-Mobile. Now reading reviews and searching for a new carrier.

I always have full bars, and I have never dropped a call. It is the same all over San Diego, and surrounding cities. I also get decent reception in the desert around Ocotillo Wells, which is unheard of.

i have AT&T for 2 years, My Area is prefecty fine never had any drop calls i don't get y people pay for Verizon, just for the name..? it's popular? we have the same services no.. only Whites would fall into Verizon's commercial.. seriously... Rollovers r very usefull, like we doesn't really talk on school seasons, but all those minutes can be use IN SUMMER ;) so I <3 AT&T at least in my area

I live in Mission Valley, I am work in La Jolla, I go Downtown often, and visit family and friends in La Mesa, El Cajon, P.B., SDSU area, Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, Torrey Highlands, Chula Vista, North Park, etc. and I don't have any issues. I was considering switching to AT&T just for the iPhone, but I notice than anytime I have a friend with bad service, they usually have AT&T. So I am staying put. Been with them since Airtouch, any drop zones, and there were very few, have been resolved, as far as I can tell. Yeah AT&T and T-Mobile have Sim Cards, but Verizon has Backup Assistant, which over the air, automatically backs up your contacts daily to their webserver, so no matter what, you always have it. Even if you lose your phone, which, if you had a Sim Card in it, you would also lose. Very happy with Verizon. 5 / 5

I very rarely have a dropped call. There is one place on the 5 near La Jolla where calls sometimes drop but even that is pretty rare.

Even though I get full reception, there are many times where someone tries to call me and the phone does not ring, and there is no sign of a missed call. Also, voice quality can be choppy, especially at night time.

3 out of 3 bars on my model. Was on Cingular / AT&T and their predecessors. Coverage deteriorated during one of the sell-offs (people in the industry advised me that towers were sold off to sweeten the deal) - whenever I asked someone what carrier they had noting that they were talking easily in a building while I had to step outside, the answer was always Verizon. I switched and have been satisfied ever since, in all parts of the West Coast and Hawaii when travelling..
