I am a victim of signing a two year contract. I never have reception indoors on my house or outdoors on Lincoln and 41st Avenue. I am looking forward to the date my contract expires. This is my worst experience with AT&T. I complained numerous times and it was / is as I am talking to a wall.
AT&T = Worst carrier ever! Constant disappointment. If I had a dime for every dropped call I'd be a millionaire. Phone works fine in some other markets... there's nothing wrong with the phone.
the iPHONE 3GS has been a big disappointment. For all the money we pay per month it's not worth it. It drops calls all over the place especially at home in Emeryville. No reception. It switches between Edge and 3G while I'm in the same spot. ATT and APPLE owe us money back!
went from Verizon to AT&T last year---only because I wanted an iPhone. while I love the device, the AT&T coverage---both call reception and 3G coverage---is extremely spotty. during my time with Verizon the call quality was near perfect. with AT&T there are dropped calls, ghost voices (echoes), and unreliable 3G even in the middle of SF or Berkeley. if apple was really savvy they would unlock the phone or at least get it over to verizon. rumor is they will----i'll believe it when I see it.
att / cingular didn't work at all, Sprint barely worked, but other than the occasional voice feedback VERIZON has worked without a problem over the last two years
My reception has improved over the last several months. I get decent 3G reception. However, once I start to use the 3G it usually kicks back over to EDGE. At least I am able to talk on my phone these days, that's an improvement from a year ago.
