overall service is excellent, especially compared to competitors (ATT, T-Mobile in particular)... too bad the Iphone doesn't work on CDMA networks! I will have some distortion on some calls but usually because of trees / foliage. EVDO is decent too. I'd recommend Sprint if you are in San Francisco. Verizon is #2.

I have had Cingular for many years, and have just grown up with it. I think the quality of phones has improved as well as the coverage. within S.F. I can get good coverage almost anywhere Including in elevators (sometimes). I travel around the state some and can almost get coverage anywhere. I was In Japan last year and was able to call out and receive from Cal. It's better than Pidgins!

Reception stinked when I had the original AT&T coverage. Finally switched over to Cingular couple months ago and bought a new phone, reception improves 100%. Now I can talk anywhere inside the house even in the garage.

Good reception on Twin Peaks using Verizon. I'm right below the viewing platform, and across the street from the Rooftop elementary school. I generally get pretty good reception almost anywhere in SF. The reception is also really good the whole way down Hwy. 101 from SF to Mountain View

I have had Sprint for over 10 years now. About 4 months ago, my phone started dropping every call. I got so fed up with it, that I considered changing services. I called Sprint and they looked up my account. They said that they could update my telephone. I called back in a half hour and they gave me a number to call. My phone was updated and has NOT dropped a call ever since. I'm keeping my Sprint. I didn't even know that you could have your phone updated. If your phone is dropping calls, call customer service and Sprint will help you out.
