Generally poor reception, even outside. Not too many dropped calls, but call quality is very poor.

I have lived all over the country and this is the first place where I can't even use my cell phone. It is completely useless! Constant dropped calls, and that is when I can actually get a bar.

I get so so receiption where I live and Motorola e815 is a great rf receiption camp, beats the poop out of my old vx4500. If you live in a marginal area with Verizon try this phone it reciption is killer.

Great reception with Vzw here at home. I had Cingular and only one bar downstairs, and 3 bars upstairs. Still get drop calls with Vzw, but significantly less than Cingular. There's a dead spot on the 210 at La Tuna Canyon (between Hwy. 2 and 118.) Reception is great on the 134 and 101 from Pasadena to the 405. I took a trip to Newport Beach from San Gabriel and reception great on the 5, 405, 605 Freeways. I also got good reception at the beach front. When I had cingular, I had the Nokia 6100. I thought it was the phone, but I tried out my Mom's Motorola v400 and that gave me a tiny bit better reception, but still many dropped calls. Overall, I'm happy with Vzw

With Cingular, I get 0-1 bar downstairs and >4 bars upstairs. Not sure why. I hate having to go upstairs all the time. When I drive out of my driveway, the reception is great - >4 bars, but I still get dropped calls. I notice a dead spot on Valley Blvd.between New and Del Mar. It's good on Main St. from Fremont all the way to Rosemead. On the I-210 between the 118 and 134, there's a dead spot somewhere near Tujunga Canyon. My sister has Verizon and she gets 2-3 bars downstairs and >4 upstairs in my house. Obviously, there's interference downstairs, but Verizon still does a better job. She is a sales rep who travels as far as Burbank, Santa Monica, and Downey. About 3 years ago, she made the switch from AT&T to Verizon and stuck with Verizon since. According to her use, Verizon is the best.

I think Cingular is a bit better. ATTWS and Sprint are both in dead zones around here. Verizon is by far the best.
