I had T-Mobile for almost 2 year. Excellent reception and rarely dropped calls. I also had AT&T before, which gave not so good reception and dropped call very often.

We just moved to the top of communications hill and our T-Mobile service works just fine, not problems. HOwever, people with At&T that come visit can never find a signal, ever.

Inside the condo I get 1-2 bars, if I'm seated by the window. Garage reception is 0. Outside on the street the reception is 1-2 bars. Calls drop all the time, and virtually everyone I talk to asks if I'm home, because they know how bad the signal is there. Have to go to Waterford Park to make calls, and even then coverage is no good. Opened up several issues with T-Mobile on this issue, nothing has been done about it for the past two years. Tim to move to Cingular / AT&T - all my friends that have it come over and their phones work fine.

Getting just 1 or 2 bars on my new Motorola Razr phone, that too depending upon where I stand in the living room. As soon as I wander off into the kitchen, there's no reception. T-Mobile customer service wasn't any help either.

In my apartment my phone varies from having 2 bars to 5 bars in certain areas, but what matters is not how many bars my phone shows, but how the voice quality is - and I've never had a single problem at my apartment with calls. Not a single dropped call, ever. I really don't understand why people like to complain about T-Mobile coverage, I haven't had many problems at all in San Jose. I guess I just get lucky.

I have had T-Mobile for year. It is the worst service overall. I have dropped calls and my friends always ask if I am driving with the windows down- when I am not. At home I get little reception and will receive message alerts an hour or more after the fact. The phone doesn't ring to begin with. I was told there were cell towers going up in the area when I initially signed up for service. I have adressed the problem with customer service. I was told I could pay 200 dollars per phone to discontinue service if I was not happy. I spent so much time on the phone with customer service to end up with a supervisor who was a jerk. I am changing service and would not recommend T-Mobile to anyone.

Both my wife and I get terrific reception with T-Mobile at home, anywhere inside the house, but zero bars at a friend's house 1 mile south of here. T-mob website does have a street level coverage chart, so you can tell where their towers are... Service is overall great throughout my travels in Bay Area, and I have excellent coverage when I travel nationwide, and even in Europe. Wish they offered broadband, though...

T-Mobile reception is zero to 2 bars; most of the time no reception in house. Three guests with T-Mobile phones had same poor reception. Disappointing. It's within one month since we signed with T-Mobile so we are trying Cingular or going back to Verizon. Verizon is excellent here; but their phone selection is lousy. That's why we were going to T-Mobile.

Accident occured on 10 July 2006: Needed to dial 911 for emergency. 3 (same mfg) phones on 3 different numbers with T-Mobile would not dial 911. Could have been life and death situation if a heart attack had occured. This was a freak accident and broken leg not life threatening, but very scary. Waiting for resolution from T-Mobile which so far has not been encouraging. $800 termination fees on 4 phones. T-Mobile says I am stuck for the fees even with no recption.

T-Mobile has essentially no capability out this way. After filing a service request, their engineering came back and simply said no towers are planned in 2006. I don't understand how they can ignore such a large area of growth with all the homes and businesses. You have to drive out of the area 3 to 5 miles to get any coverage. File your service requests; the more the merrier to get them to do something about this area. How hard is it to simply put up a few towers or even one would be nice ?

I live in the apartment homes at the intersection of Ringwood and Brokaw and I get 1 bar to no service inside. I constantly have to go outside to talk and that only improves by a bar or 2. I don't have a land line and rely on my cell service which is pretty much useless. I can't wait to change providers. Thank gawd I'm on a 1 year plan and it's finally up! BTW, don't get the IPAQ6315 either. That unit is plagued with problems which just adds to my predicament.

Avondale St. and Bollinger in West San Jose (95129) I have been very happy T-Mobile customer. It ringed everywhere in the US, China, Singapore, France, Geneva, Mumbai etc T-Mobile does not ring in my home or outside in San Jose. The repeated calls to their service has fetched no success. They offered me a 50 minute free time which is kind of useless if there is no reception. Anyone recommending other carriers for the above cross street?

Superb reception (full bar) around school zone and major Berryssa's intersections. Only so-so at home w/ 1 or 3 bars. Despite decent reception around the house, all calls come in quite clear. Recently, I migrated from AT&T GSM (with a Nokia) to T-Mobile, and T-Mobile seems to be far better than AT&T with the same reception. At least haven't experienced choppy calls like AT&T had and its annoying fade-away connections. I am able to use handfree, speaker feature on V600 with no static problem. And with full reception, the speaker amplifies other end crystally clear, just like speaking on your regular phone.
