Sprint coverage in this area continues to be poor despite the addition of many houses in the area. For me, Sprint coverage has remained largely unchanged for over 5 years. On the other hand, both Verizon and ATT / Cingular have expanded coverage out here. Guess you get what you pay for :(
My husband and I lose multiple calls everyday. The Verizon company has "replaced" his phone twice, come to find out they faked it. He has the original serial #. Customer service is awful and the amount of dropped calls is immense. Don't recommend the company at all. We're switching in November!
Both my wife and I get terrific reception with T-Mobile at home, anywhere inside the house, but zero bars at a friend's house 1 mile south of here. T-mob website does have a street level coverage chart, so you can tell where their towers are... Service is overall great throughout my travels in Bay Area, and I have excellent coverage when I travel nationwide, and even in Europe. Wish they offered broadband, though...
Sprint is spotty at best around the country club area. The traffic light at the intersection is in a difficult spot and calls always drop. Cingular is ok (AT&T tower) but Verizon is better here. T-Mobile is useless.
T-Mobile reception is zero to 2 bars; most of the time no reception in house. Three guests with T-Mobile phones had same poor reception. Disappointing. It's within one month since we signed with T-Mobile so we are trying Cingular or going back to Verizon. Verizon is excellent here; but their phone selection is lousy. That's why we were going to T-Mobile.
My wife and I have had Cingular Wireless for a long time. We have always had decent reception at home, but about two weeks ago, it just went dead. We can't get incoming calls, they just go to VM and we get two bars, then 1, then 0, on most calls we try to place. All calls eventually drop and that's only when they actually go through to begin with. Most of the time the person on the other end of the line can't hear us. I tried using different phones and had friends with Cingular come over and everyone has the same problem. I called Cingular and they basically said tough luck. I used to work for Cellular One / AT&T Wireless and know that cell companies sometime shut down cell sites. They claim that is not the case, but there is no other explination as to why we had good service for so long and now we don't. We have good reception anywhere other than near our residence. Don't get Cingular if you live in this area. They suck and their customer service is the worst in the business. They claimed they would fill out a trouble ticket to find out if there's something wrong with the cell sites in our area, but they've never followed up and I just end up on hold when I call back. They suck! We are going to try Metro PCS once this contract is up. Does anyone know much about this company and their coverage in the 95136 area? THANKS
I live by the Safeway near Lawrence and Stevens Creek. About 2 months ago my signal went to near nothng and my phone is effectively useless at home. Repeated calls to Verizon and switching phones did nothing. Get this... 2 months later they finally admit that they shut down the tower in our area. Considering this is what I suspected all along I think I might actually believe them. They said it should be fixed "shortly"... we'll see. I'm with Verizon because their coverage has generally been better than other carriers. I've never been impressed with their customer service.
