Usually no reception outdoors, and inside, second level decent reception usually 2-3 bars. Often changes from ATT to Cingular networks, very annoying. Better in school areas.

Usually 1 bar. Get about every other word when trying to use indoors (not good for my office-in-home). Some calls direct to VM. Must call forward all calls to my land line and pay extra for the privilege, not fair. Have newer phone on order, will see if it helps.

The stretch from San Felipe to Silver Creek on Yerba Buena (somewhat hilly area), you are guaranteed to loose the call. No signal between silver creek and 101 (almost close to 101).

I used Sprint PCS and ATT TDMA in the past. Sprint almost always failed at my home. But at work and on the major highways, it worked decently. The quality of the call on the highways was pretty decent. With ATT TDMA, when I originally got it (over 2 years ago), was not that bad. At home, I was able to make and receive calls but calls get dropped quite often. I put up with it because of the contract. I got Verizon couple of months ago after seeing a friend of mine living in the same area be happy with it (except for the high price compare to the competition). In my case, I wasn't as lucky. I don't know if it is because of the phone model (Samsung a670) I am using, but the signal strength seem to fluctuate quite a bit. Sometimes, it I get 4 bars but in the same location a second later, I don't get any bars. This became a frustrating problem. I wish the guy in the Verizon ad check my neighborhood

Great reception. Better indoors than SprintPCS in this area, where many times I could not get a signal. I recently switched from Sprint to a smartphone for SMS messaging, and haven't regretted it. SprintPCS is a great service, probably slightly better than AT&T in call quality and price, but their lack of international SMS and nice phone models was really the deciding factor for leaving. I was lured away by the Int. SMS and the Motorola Razr V3, but ended getting the SMT 5600 instead, and couldn't be happier. Neat freakin gadget.

I have had Metro PCS since they started business in this area. In the begining some of the phones that they offered weren't always of the best quality and there were a number of "black-holes". However, today, for the price, they are, hands down, the best cell phone company I've delt with. Their service is great and seems to improve every month. The reception is always great - I can't remember the last time I droped a call. The phones have improved ten-fold, and their customer service representatives are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and very responsive. I've yet to have a bad experience with any representative. I recommend Metro PCS to everyone and anyone looking to buy a cell phone or switch services.

I am marking this as "average" based on the number of signal bars. However, I must add that I get NO dropped calls, NO straight to Vmail, my wireless web still works excellent with one or two bars and voice quality is always superb.

Usually drop calls along Fleming. Once I get to the house though (a mere block off of Fleming) I get 3-4 bars. Go figure. Cingular in general has been pretty good, but I do wonder about other services.

Variable service in 95125 (Willow Glen) and 95014 (Cupertino) areas. Many dropped calls, calls gonig straight to vocie mail and calls too broken to complete. T-Mobile is bad, but NOT as bad as Sprint in this area.

I don't know why others don't get good signal. I get very good signal almost anywhere, especially after ATT and Cingular combined their towers. I think it does really depend on the phone you have. Nokia seems to be the best for signal.

I never was able to get a Sprint phone (three of them) to get good signal at my home... near Home Depot on Blossom Hill. This really sucked for work related calls... and it was embarassing when I had a job interview once and the call dropped 6-7 times... luckily I still got the job.

With my T226, reception is good... as good as my old TDMA phone. When I move my SIM into my unlocked T610, reception is horrible. Leads me to believe many if not most reception issues are a problem with the phone and not the signal.
