Terrible reception! I get a lot of dropped calls and definitely not good for my business. Looking to move to a better wireless carrier!

Had Verizon for 8 years and decided to try AT&T because it was a bit less expensive and I was tired of dropping a call or two everytime I went through Del Mar. Service is Terrible here and spotty all along the 5 corridor from the 5 / 805 split to Carlsbad. I drop an average of 8 to 10 calls a day driving this stretch of road. Going back to Verizon as soon as my contract is up

Another San Elijo Hills resident wishing to comment here. Live part way up the hill, off Schoolhouse way. I suspect all San Elijo Residents are served by the tower you can see on the hillside. I believe this tower is overloaded. Apparently, it is owned by "American Towers, Inc." We have noticed poor call quality, dropped calls, and being unable to hear the person on the other end of the line at random times, although they typically state they can hear us fine. This problem occurs on both GSM phones from AT&T / Cingular, and CDMA Phones from Sprint. Service up until 2006 or so was excellent in the same location. Verizon experience is unknown at this location. In general- Phones randomly go in and out of roaming mode, and while stationary and sitting on a table will report decent amount of bars. Upon attempting to make a call, the signal will drop and it's basically a game of roulette as to what happens.

No bars at all. Called AT&T - says 4 new towers going up ASAP. Tried Verizon, no better. Tried Wi-Ex zBoost YX510 - Home cell phone signal booster - from Crutchfield, no help. Solution was to add home phone line, forward cell calls when at home.

Not great strength in the house but it is better than with AT&T. At least I can make calls most of the time inside rather than having to stand outside. Once in a while I even get 3 or 4 bars inside. Usually its 2 bars.
