Not good! I am the T-Mobile customers for more than 4 years and the reception is not getting improve. I occasionally have no bar and the max is 2 bar for EDGE. Hardly to have 3g, if I do, the 3g will gone in minutes. Thinking to switch to AT&T for better network.

I've been a loyal AT&T customer since Jesus was in short pants, but now I'm singing a different tune. I've got 1 or 2 bars in the "good" spots in my apartment. If I want to make a (somewhat clear) call I have to stand in my roommate's doorway (so much for privacy!). I'll be moving to SF in a few months and the service doesn't seem to be any better there. WTF? Now that I'm beyond my contract, I'm shopping around for a new carrier.

ATT works and has a tower with space on the property. Verizon, please buy a piece of it! My phone is useless 8 hours a day.

Terrible inside, have to go out in the yard, but it's windy out there which interferes with reception in a different way.

Varies from no reception to one bar (-109db), rarely two (-101db) - this is the halfway point between two towers, oscillates constantly, sometimes completely useless.

I have to stand by window to get 1-2 bars. Otherwise, no reception in apartment. I appreciate T-Mobile's signal strength map on their site and it helps to know where I can make calls.

Can not make a call from in my apartment (3rd floor) or outside from the landing or balcony. Reception is bad in most places in San Mateo and Burlingame where I have tried to make or receive a call. Most calls fail, are dropped, or are of such poor quality as to be unintelligable so that I have to hang up. Plan to return the phone but MetroPCS rule on returning the phone is less than 30 days use and less that 1 HOUR of use... I have used my phone for 1 hr. 8 min. 47 sec. (this total usage was for 33 calls... ) This was my first cell phone. Have had the phone 8 days. This "service" has reaffirmed everything I thought was true about cell phones. I need to find a plan that will work on the Peninsula especially along the 101 corridor.

Too much bad reception / dropped calls. Battery life short due to phone switching in and out of service. Can't wait for my contract to end. Service / phone works fine in other parts of the country.

Inside our house we seldom get phone reception though strangely enough the phones will ring when someone calls us. Sometimes the phones will work if we sit by the front door or window. Sometimes they will work if you go out in the front yard or across the street. Seems to be affected by wind. We definitely need a new cell tower somewhere on the CSM campus for this whole area! In other areas we generally have no problem with coverage. Just a note: when I had Nextel, it did not work at all on 101 going north between Cloverdale and Crescent City. When travelling from there to Grants Pass, Oregon it would only work again on the outskirts of Grants Pass. It did not work either at the Marin / Sonoma county line. Hope someone develops a cheap satellite phone real quick!
