Very poor reception in home. Calls consistently dropped. Must use husband's Verizon cell phone to place any calls out.

Can not make a call from in my apartment (3rd floor) or outside from the landing or balcony. Reception is bad in most places in San Mateo and Burlingame where I have tried to make or receive a call. Most calls fail, are dropped, or are of such poor quality as to be unintelligable so that I have to hang up. Plan to return the phone but MetroPCS rule on returning the phone is less than 30 days use and less that 1 HOUR of use... I have used my phone for 1 hr. 8 min. 47 sec. (this total usage was for 33 calls... ) This was my first cell phone. Have had the phone 8 days. This "service" has reaffirmed everything I thought was true about cell phones. I need to find a plan that will work on the Peninsula especially along the 101 corridor.

Too much bad reception / dropped calls. Battery life short due to phone switching in and out of service. Can't wait for my contract to end. Service / phone works fine in other parts of the country.

Cingular is awful and sucks big time!. Can't wait for my contract to expire. Who cares about rollover minutes when you can't even use your phone. I work at second and folsom. When I am at the lounge / cafeteria there is not a single bar on the phone. The other carriers which my co workers have are having a "grand" conversation chatting away. I can't even get any connection. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Cingular.. By the way I live in San Mateo and it doesn't get any better either... I can't even receive an incoming call in my own residence. Now that is pathetic! Stay away from Cingular!

ATT works and has a tower with space on the property. Verizon, please buy a piece of it! My phone is useless 8 hours a day.

Good coverage in the Canyon on the west side of Hwy. 92. Had Verizon before and coverage was so bad they let me out of my contract.

Only works marginally by the window. I want to change phone and service, but having read the reviews for Cingular and Verizon (poor service and / or poor tech support and customer service) I may stay put until things improve...

Inside our house we seldom get phone reception though strangely enough the phones will ring when someone calls us. Sometimes the phones will work if we sit by the front door or window. Sometimes they will work if you go out in the front yard or across the street. Seems to be affected by wind. We definitely need a new cell tower somewhere on the CSM campus for this whole area! In other areas we generally have no problem with coverage. Just a note: when I had Nextel, it did not work at all on 101 going north between Cloverdale and Crescent City. When travelling from there to Grants Pass, Oregon it would only work again on the outskirts of Grants Pass. It did not work either at the Marin / Sonoma county line. Hope someone develops a cheap satellite phone real quick!
