I live in a big condo complex near Tustin and 17th St. in Santa Ana. I've lived here for a year and the frustration I'm experiencing due to dropped calls is making me nuts. I just don't understand how this happens in this area. It's not like I'm out in the boonies! There is not one place in my condo (including the balcony) that I can go and have a conversation without the calls dropping. I can't switch providers because my family in other parts of California and the country all have it and as you know you can talk for free. None of them seem to be having the problems I'm having.

Service in nonexistent indoors and outdoors is not that much better. Seems like I've to pass McFadden on the south or 1st street going north to get reception. Anything calls I try to make within these streets are never successful. I've looked into getting a microcell tower but I'm not willing to pay $200 to get a service I'm already paying for. I've complaint about their crappy reception in my area but in the past the reps have blamed my phone. Since I know its useless to bring press the issue any further I just leave it at that, but its not the phone. Many phones have this problem in this area.

You get really good coverage out in this area. Other companies have 1 or 2 bars here, but I've got to say that Virgin Mobile has great reception.

Rarely have 3G coverage, often get problems with sending and receiving MMS and SMS messages. 1 to 5 bars sporadically, lots of dropped calls. Switching to Verizon next month, I'm done with T-Mobile and their excuses. I've had them for over 6 years.

I just posted a note and left this out: A couple of blocks from our house, out on Segerstrom, reception goes way up and gets better the closer you get to South Coast Plaza. It's better just a few hundred yards from our house in some directions. So, something happened just before Christmas the put our house in a dead zone.

We live near Segerstrom and Greenville, about 3 blocks from that intersection as the crow flies. Inside our house, the reception was great- almost no dropped calls, etc - from when we moved in 2 years ago until just before Christma, 2005, when we abruptly got dropped calls, and poor reception, "I CAN'T hear you now," after which we hang up and call on a land line. Verizon hides behind their legal fine print, "There's no guarantee of reception," while their ads say the opposite. Their tech people say there's nothing wrong with the tower, touch luck, but there has to be- we have 2 LG 6100s, all updated software, and great reception until about the time of the big storm before Christmas, 2005. I keep calling Verizon, looking for Mr. Big to come on the line and quit talking legal mumbo jumbo, and simply say he'll restore our reception. It was so good for almost 2 years I put the cell phone on my business card. Now of course with bad reception at home, I'm sorry I did that. Why don't we all demand that Verizon quit making excuses and quit hiding behind legal fine print and simple restore my service, and provide service like they have near their irvine, CA, HQ (my doctor's office, nearby to theirs, has 17 bars inside rooms inside other rooms). They know how to give coverage. In my case, they've taken it away.
