Poor reception (1 bar at most) inside the house, slightly better on the street or just up the street, but never more than 3 bars.

Generally, good coverage. Driving through SB County there are several areas where coverage drops but only momentarily. Amazingly, I am able to talk while driving thru the tunnel in Gaviota. Data transmission is even better as I can still transmit with zero bars. I moved to AT&T from Verizon despite many of my friends telling me Verizon has better coverage but I have found that not to be the case. Same amount of areas with poor reception, just different.

generally reliable in house and outside not good north of costco / winchester canyon, or half way up 154 bars fluctuate for an unknown reason: have had as high as 4 and as few as 1, here near downtown

Inside the House about two bars, but still functions OK. Very few dropped calls, though voice can be choppy quite often. Generally, service has been consistent with no outages and minimum drops where ever I go - NY, MN, TX, PR, as well as the central coast down to LA and San Diego. Virgin uses the Sprint network.

I've gotten good reception all over the populated areas in and around Santa Barbara with Verizon for the last 5 years that I've used the service. (I rarely talk on the phone while driving, so can't comment on while-moving communications.) The only place I frequent that has weak reception is way back in the hills, near the Rancho Oso camping areas. Have been very happy with Verizon in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, and the Santa Ynez Valley.

I live up on APS, and I get virtualy no reception. On rare occasions, l will get one bar, and will be able to make a few phone calls, but in this area, dropped / missed calls are a guarantee

Choppy reception in the house. In the yard facing town the reception is good but not high quality. In general Cingular will drop about 1 of 20 calls I have in the SB area, more when on the freeway.

when idle, the phone shows 5 bars. when I make a call, it drops down to 2 or 3. not sure what's going on. for the most part, I get great reception, but periodically (and particularly in my east facing apartment) the reception gets patchy.
