I have Sierra 3G / 4G. 3G gets 6 bars (100%) signal strengh but speed is slow - 1Mbs down. 4G gets 2 bars with antenna assis and window open but again only 1Mbs -> 1.5Mbs down and.20 up. Works but FAR CRY from 4Mpbs down! promised for 4G and only 2 bars. Its cold wtih window open in winter.

In my own home I can hardly ever get service! Calls won't go through or get dropped. When I'm talking to people, they can only hear about 1 in five words and vice versa! The Internet connection is beyond horrible!

I have broken multiple iphones in frustration to dropped / ghost calls. Worst ever.

Never receive calls at home. Need to stand close to the busy street with heavy traffic to use the phone, which makes it useless.

I am amazed at how AT&T is still in business. I am stuck to the phone thanks to their expensive contract cancellation fee but I wonder why people sign up for AT&T in the first place. The place where I live has 1 to no bars from AT&T towers and when I call them, they said everything is great! Their solution was to "buy" a microcell which is itself $199. I asked them to give me one for free which they declined. So I was "forced" to buy one. Two more months and I am done with AT&T.

If I go stand at my back window I can have a conversation. Otherwise people can't hear me.

I have been complaining about dropped calls, calls going directly to voicemail for months. They replaced my expensive phone once. Nothing changed. I get 0-3 bars standing outside my house. Signal jumps up and down constantly. Currently they are checking the towers but I have doubts they are doing anything. Before I switch carriers I will probably invest $300 in a cell signal repeater / amp that "might" improve the signal inside the small house. If I have to swich, Verizon seems to be the carrier of choice around here.

No 3G. Between 0 and 3 bars (out of 4) on 2G. Outbound calls fail or are very noisy and crackly.

reception is only good to make a call but you have to find a good spot indoors, if you go outside you might get 2 bars... .

I live right between Intel and Apple, and I get better reception in Mozambique or Uganda or Kenya!

In Tasman building addresses 3001, 3003, or 3005, my ATT coverage typically shows only 1-2 bars. I'm frequently unable to access the internet, and occasionally drop calls in these locations as well.

The reception is poor. Most of the time I can't hear clearly what the person on the other side is talking about. I get call failed occasionally or just the call just canceled automatically. My phone is showing 5 bars most of the time but would drop to 3 or no bars during call. I do get drop calls occasionally.

This just happened in the last few days. Prior to that time I always had 4 bars. Now my calls break up and I loose them. What's up?

AT&T
horrible horrible horrible! I get absolutely no reception! And when I am lucky and get one to three bars, the call quickly "fails". Worst cell phone provider ever. Oh yeah, and their "best coverage" ad campaign is a huge lie.

Something good has happened in the past few days. Now getting 3G reception indoors (1-2 bars). Outside is much stronger. It appears that something positive has been done by AT&T in our area recently.

I found out from AT&T's (Cingular) own website that my reception is poor with where I live. I wished I had this tool two years ago before I was locked in a two year contract. The cell phone service was virtually useless because I can't call anyone without major frustration with frustration. Too many dropped calls. Definitely switching to Verizon as soon as contract is completed.

Reception on AT&T all throughout the Valley is completely hit or miss, plus even when you do have signal you're lucky to be able to make a call. Even though they claim I have 3G coverage here, I don't get any 3G, only 1 bar of EDGE if I am lucky. At home I have to hold my AT&T phones up to the window to get service, doesn't matter which model I use, I have 6 or 7 different AT&T phones and they all get horrible reception.

Cingular has TERRIBLE reception in the area near Santa Clara University. Whenever I'm indoors, I always get dropped called, which is kind of ironic since Cingular's ads always say that they have the least dropped calls. Furthermore, whenever I try to call someone, I have to try countless times before I even manage to call through. When I eventually manage to get through, the reception is VERY bad and I can hardly hear what the other person is saying. It just sounds like this, "Hello? *insert 5 seconds of NOTHINGNESS* Hello? *insert another 5 seconds of hearing absolutely nothing at all* HELLO?? ARE YOU THERE? *gets disconnected*" I'm definitely switching to Verizon or T-Mobile. Shame on you, Cingular!

I used to have good reception for the longest time since i've been a Cingular customer but for the past 2 months i've have bad or almost no reception even in my open backyard. I usually have to walk out onto the street to get 2-3 bars to get my voicemails since nobody can call me when I don't have reception so my phone can't even register a missed call for me to get back to them. I called AT&T and apparently about 2 months ago they stopped paying T-Mobile to allow its users to roam off the T-Mobile towers, so until enough people call in and complain to AT&T so that they can fill in a form of complaint, they are not going to reverse their decision, and bad reception is all we're gonna get. I feel so cheated for paying for a service i'm not even getting!

Very spotty in the house. Calls go in and out frequently. Have to go outdoors to get better reception. AT&T, put a tower in our area!

Almost non-existent in the house. Verizon slightly better. T Mobile bad. This is a dead area. Buyer beware. Check T Mobile site and you'll see bad coverage.

I usually see 4-5 bars. Even then the voice breaks when I receive a call. The people on the other side don't have any issues. Initially I felt it was a problem with the instrument, so replaced it with another one. Have the same problem with another equipment, but slightly less severe. Don't know the issue yet.Any help will be appreciated

No bars of reception inside the house. Got one or two bars outdoors. (I have T-Mobile but the phone screen shows Cingular in this area.) A salesperson in T-Mobile told me they're going to build a tower nearby in August, which should improve the situation.

When I am inside the house, you get only one bar. You have to run to outside to receive phone calls. T-mobile is the same, I believe they use the same network as Cingular in this area.
