I get solid reception pretty much everywhere I go in downtown Santa Monica. I would rate it a 5 but the 3g coverage is in and out, and I honestly don't notice a speed increase when searching google on 3g vs Edge.

I pay $75 a month to AT&T, which they're apparently spending on commercials claiming they offer 3G service, instead of spending it on actually providing it. There's no reception here, period. I've never been able to complete a phone call in this area... within the first few seconds, the connection degrades to nothing and it's impossible to talk. I got suckered into a 2-year plan, a total of about $1800, for a phone that's basically a paperweight. I have no idea how AT&T gets away with this scam. Do NOT do "business" with them.

Coverage was good until a week ago. Now all AT&T users at our company (about 12+) get no signal at all, and we're high up in a building in sight of the cell tower 2 blocks away. Interestingly, iPhone users with 3g or 3gs phones get 100% reception?!? WTF?

ZERO reception in the house..if I go out to the alley or on to the sidewalk, I'll get spotty coverage. Verizon doesn't care as they seem to have a monopoly in the area. Never again.

In the course of tryiing to find the best service provider for my wireless use, I've tried ATT, Nextel and now Verizon. They all seem to work amazingly well at first and then BAMMMM, no more service. It is like they flip a switch and you lose your service. None is better than the next. I liked it better in the 1970's when I had a phone the size of a shoe box... at least it worked! Has anyone had any luck with the cell phone reception boosters?

The reception has gone from poor to none lately. Every call is a dropped call --often after just a few seconds. I can't believe a real company delivers such absolute garbage for service. Absolutely infuriating in recent weeks. Called up customer service and they tied me up for an hour before taking my complaint. They accidentally disabled my phone. It took them 30 minutes to turn my phone back on, and I missed a dinner with a friend. Thanks a lot jerks.

My calls are missed or dropped 80% of the time. It is quite frustrating. I rely on my voice over I.P. phone (Vonage).

Verizon sells itself on reliability of reception, as shown in its tv and billboards ads. Unfortunately this is a false sales campaign. Phone calls can rarely be completed from our home, calls are often dropped. The same can be said for quite a few other areas in Santa Monica. Verizon should be truthful in its advertising, in many cases, its reliability sucks. Why do we stick with Verizon?..mainly because other family members and friends have it and because our land line and DSL is with them. We are stuck with them.
