Coverage in that area for the most part is still poor. It's better outside my apartment. It's like the Verizon "Can you hear me now?" I find it strange that I can stand there with FOUR bars, make a call, and during the call the signal drops and hovers between 1 and 2 bars. WTF does the signal DROP when making a call. I hate Cingular. Always have. I liked the service and customer service when it was the good old days of Pacific Bell Mobile Services. The only reason I haven't switched all these years is too many people know my cell number by heart. But now I've brought me phone number, service and money to Verizon because of better coverage, better plans and it's NOT Cingular!

Most of the houses are two stories in this area and reception is poor down stairs but outside is ok upstairs is a bit better. drops calls all the time I would say almost every time I call and around town several times a week. Verizon has just changed their policy if you make (any) changes on your phone even adding minutes or any other feature they will renue your contract for another year or two. We pay for this junk

just switched to Cingular GSM from Cingular TDMA. had major promises of no more dropped calls and better reception and coverage. the coverage since switching is FAR worse than before, and I have a dropped call at least twice a day. my phone has absolutely quit working altogether 3 times. I am on my 4th phone in 5 months. Cingular will not give me a new phone at the stores, I have to call a special number, get warranty service people, they send me a new phone and I send in the failed phone. our new slogan for Cingular in this household, which has been with Cingular (nee AT&T, nee cellular one) for almost 20 years, no kidding, is "cingular sucks". I would warn ANYONE away from cingular, and I have been a loyal customer since 1987. Verizon is MUCH better.

Acceptable coverage 1998-July 2005. Since July 2005 reception has been unacceptable in each of my family's 3 different phones.

The folks at Professional Cellular and Paging were great. Their store offers all the carriers and they really know which one is best for you. I can't recommend their customer service any higher - they were awesome and knowlegeable! I had a wonderful AT&T TDMA phone and found out that Cingular who bought AT&T now offers only GSM technology which has a much shorter range on their towers. The GSM phone reception was miserable away from any main metropolitan area. At Professional Cellular they expalined all this and recommended Verzon - I couldn't be any happier! The service was better than AT&T, I wish the battery would last longer, but the reception all over is excellent!

Since the merger with ATT reception has gotten better and better. You have to update your SIM card(free at the Cingular store) and it helps if you have a great phone(Siemens Rules). Even works great at the coast!

I usually get between 3 and 5 bars at my house. Outside I usually get semi-spotless reception. At school (Montgomery High School) there are a few dead spots.

I allowed my very good AT&T TDMA service to be sucked into the Cingular GSM realm at the beginning of the year. Now when in our house I will usually get 1+ bar, but if I step into the backyard it will jump to 4+ bars. Generally, the front yard yields no signal at all. There are other times, however, when I will get 4+ bars in the house. I don't know if this means that there is a problem with hand-off between towers, or just being on the very edge of a cell.

(House is up under the white cross on the hill). Reception here is barely usable inside. Outside is a little better. Visitors with GSM phones have zero reception, but TDMA phones (old AT&T) seem to be pretty reliable. Down the hill as I get closer to Hwy. 12, reception is pretty good. Going over the hill at Fountaingrove, get zero.
