I love my AT&T service. I get wonderful reception in my house and around town. Even going to the coast I still have service.

The folks at Professional Cellular and Paging were great. Their store offers all the carriers and they really know which one is best for you. I can't recommend their customer service any higher - they were awesome and knowlegeable! I had a wonderful AT&T TDMA phone and found out that Cingular who bought AT&T now offers only GSM technology which has a much shorter range on their towers. The GSM phone reception was miserable away from any main metropolitan area. At Professional Cellular they expalined all this and recommended Verzon - I couldn't be any happier! The service was better than AT&T, I wish the battery would last longer, but the reception all over is excellent!

Since the merger with ATT reception has gotten better and better. You have to update your SIM card(free at the Cingular store) and it helps if you have a great phone(Siemens Rules). Even works great at the coast!

I had AT&T before and tried to even stick it out with GSM and never got any service in the north bay, my phone would always cut out. With Verizon and my new motorola phone I rarely have problems.

I get decent reception and 3g or '4g' all over santa rosa, except for my house in rincon valley, where I have full bars but only 1g or maybe 2g data connection. I believe this has to do with the terrain. As I head down rt 12 out of santa rosa, data signal disappears and then service drops out.

Up until about June 15th 2008, Larkfield didn't have very good service. The only phones that seemed get get a decent signal without significant drops was Nextel. But that seems to have changed, now I get full to near full bars in larkfield with my iphone. My parents Nokia phones, also on AT&T network, get great reception now as well.

I usually get between 3 and 5 bars at my house. Outside I usually get semi-spotless reception. At school (Montgomery High School) there are a few dead spots.

AT&T GSM reception slowly improving in most areas of SR always been fairly good on my wife's TDMA phone. Certain areas of Fountaingrove and Hwy 101 near Petaluma / Novato are good on TDMA only. Hopefully will improve with Cingular buy-out.
